Justification:
The reason for choosing the research question is that Las Vegas like any other tourist destination is facing traffic problems. It has been reported that Las Vegas and its 4-mile strip is congested at peak times. Tourists are stuck in traffic for hours, and it is impossible to reach the destination on time. Moreover, there is immense criticism regarding monorail service in Las Vegas that was built by acquiring a public funded loan of $653 million, but never served the purpose of providing public transport as its network is limited. It, in fact, connected different casinos, Las Vegas Convention Center, and Las Vegas Airport. Moreover, it costs a lot to travel by monorail. The general public or workers employed by casinos have to use other forms of transport. Therefore, it could be stated that monorail is not a practical solution to meet the growing public transport needs of the Sin City. The selected sources listed below will be useful to understand the factors that are causing transport issues in Las Vegas. Furthermore, they will help in understanding the current traffic problems and identify possible transport solutions that are cost effective and serve the larger purpose of improving public transport services in a city that attracts millions of tourists every year. The possible outcome of the review of selected sources would be in the form of suggestions regarding the implementation of a plan that could meet the sustainable public transport needs of the city.
