In response to your request of an analytical report on two travel destinations, I have comprehensively researched on Milan and Buenos Aries travel destinations and presented the below paper. I have researched on the two travel destinations and used five factors as criteria to analyze and recommend one of them. These factors include; weather, price, hospitality, diversity, and culture. This report is useful in understanding the factors that one needs to know before deciding on a travel destination, and also what people in the tourism sector need to understand on the preferences of tourists. Therefore, from the research and analysis criteria, I concluded that Buenos Aries is the appropriate travel destination for anyone desiring a relaxing destination. I would like to thank you in advance for the opportunity to present the research.
As we approach the festive season in December, I look forward to visit some relaxing and stunning destinations. I want to visit a destination I have never visited before, but I have two choices between Milan in Italy, and Buenos Aries in Argentina. I have to do a research on these two destinations before I can decide which one to go to. I am specifically looking for a relaxing vacation filled with breath taking scenery and beauty. Some of the services that I look for are; great room services, customized travel solutions, massage parlor, shopping, great food and drinks, among other services. I am looking for an average accommodation budget, a low cost transportation package, and an average overall budget. I am expecting the people in my destination to understand my English since it is the only language I can speak. My girlfriend will be accompanying me to the destination so her preferences should be considered. I will compare the two travel destinations based on five travel factors that include; weather, price, hospitality, diversity, and culture.
Milan
Milan, a city located in the south of Italy, is one of Europe’s most prestigious and preferred tourist destination with a record of over 1900 million tourist arrivals in 2008 (Baggio & Sainaghi, 2011). It is considered as the 52nd most visited tourist destination in the world, and a fashion center. Brands such as Valentino, Channel, Gucci, Armani, and others are found in Milan making it a leading fashion center. Most of these visitors are from Europe and around the world (Baggio & Sainaghi, 2011). According to a research, most guests who come from the United States visit the city under business issues mostly fashion and modelling, while guests from China and Japan mostly visit for relaxing and leisure segment. The city is full of several tourists’ attractions that include Piazza, Duomo, San Siro Stadium, Via Montenapoleone, Teatro alla Scala, among other attractions (Carlo, Canali, Pritchard & Morgan, 2009). These attractions hold precious and remarkable history filled with the culture of Italy and Milan itself as a town, which offers a great package for someone looking for a relaxing vacation.
Milan is also highly appreciated by tourists because of several reasons. Most guests say that public transportation is cheap and efficient, while a smaller number of them find it inadequate and expensive. Essentially, visitors find Milan to be an entertaining destination filled with cultural opportunities that include cuisine, shopping, music, art, and the night life meaning the destination is remarkably diverse (Villa, 2010). Additionally, most of them find Milan to have well-organized and professional-leisure activities. According to Bell (2007), an average number of visitors to Milan are satisfied with the city; over 50 visitors would recommend the destination to a friend or family and 50% would wish to return. Moreover, most of them find the communication efficient in adverts, television, radio, and other forms of advertising. The people of Milan are friendly and social to visitors. However, there some challenges or downsides of Milan. One is the lack of enough green scenery such as parks (Villa, 2010). Additionally, the city is considered by most visitors as expensive, and the level of English is still low and can be a constant barrier in effective communication (Villa, 2010). The weather is moderate with rainy winter and sultry summers prevail. During winter temperatures drop to -2 degree Celsius while in winter they can rise to 21 degrees Celsius (Villa, 2010).
Milan hosts some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and restaurants in the world. 75% of tourist’s stays in hotels where, 47% prefer 4-star hotels, 11% prefer 5-star hotels, and 15% prefer less than a star hotel (Sainaghi, 2011). Most of these hotels have normal services that include cuisine, drinks, desserts, accommodation, among others. However, the pricing is too expensive, and most visitors only spend 1 to 3 nights at the longest of their stay (Frankel, 2002). Milan is a great travel destination for someone looking to have a relaxing vacation filled with entertainment, culture, history, fashion, and art.
Buenos Aries
Buenos Aries, the capital city of Argentina, has been on the rise over the last few years in terms of tourism. The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), revealed a steady and robust growth it has contribute to Argentina’s travel and tourism economy (Stone & Sharpley, 2011). The city is mostly famous and mostly visited due to its strategic location that is full of historical richness in famous tourist’s sites such as San Telmo and Montserrat (Burden, 2002). Buenos Aries was constructed at the center of the colony that bears a lot of historical value. Apart from its rich historical value, it has a strong culture that also attracts most tourists. Buenos Aries is famous for the great dancing style of Tango, soccer, polo, among other things (Burden, 2002). It is an ideal travel destination based on its diversity in leisure activities. One can play polo, soccer, attend wine events, golf, spas, food tours, medial tourism, among other many leisure activities. The destination is mostly visited due to the inexpensive status of different travel elements like accommodation, transportation, and food (Hoffman, 2007). One can spend less money on food through food walkthroughs that offer considerable foods such as pizzas, hot dogs, and beef sausages, among others (Mount, 2006). Buenos Aries is famous among its visitors because of its rich agricultural potential in Argentina that ensures a wide variety of fresh vegetables for most vegetarians (Bernhardson, 2004).
The city hosts numerous hotels that range from high-end and expensive hotels to quality budget hotel (Lapper, 1999). Hence, most tourists prefer the quality budget hotels that are mostly located outside the city center. However, with its efficient and inexpensive transport, it is easier to get around. The people of Bueno Aries friendly and social people who take great attention in showing visitors what Buenos Aries has to offer in terms of culture, art, and entertainment. Buenos Aries is rich in culture, with the Spanish language, soccer, tango dancing, among other cultural attraction (Burden, 2002). The city is filled with relaxing green sceneries that are an ideal travel destination for anyone wanting more privacy and independence for a long period, and with a high or low-cost budget.
The downside of Buenos Aires is that; the area is full of corrupt custom agents. They seek bribes before they can clear anything. Furthermore, the crime rate is high with most pickpockets and conmen looking for tourists. However, apart from the normal ills accompanying developing nations, the destination is fun and provides all that is essential for tourists seeking leisure.
In conclusion, I have identified the two travel destinations to be similar in their rich historical and cultural value. Again, both Milan and Buenos Aries have the suitable elements that are ideal for a relaxing destination vacation for me and my girlfriend. Milan is rich in culture, historic scenes, friendly people, great hotels, great entertainment, and communication elements, but it is not a budget destination and tends to be expensive. Conversely, Buenos Aries also offers exceptional hotels, food, people, but on an average or budget travel destination package. I would recommend Buenos Aries as the best and suitable travel destination for me and anyone else there desiring a relaxing, entertaining, and budget travel destination.
