The restaurant I visited was the Texas de Brazil, Brazilian Steakhouse in Las Vegas, Nevada. The restaurant is located in the Town Square shopping center. I went for dinner service on November 10, 2014 around 6:30pm. The Texas de Brazil is a Brazilian Steakhouse. It is fine dining, buffet style restaurant with a full service bar.
The specialty foods and drinks on the menu included the Brazilian sausage, Filet Mignon, Parmesan Drummettes, Brazilian Alcatra and Brazilian Picanha. Alcatra and Picanha are special cuts of top sirloin that is seasoned and grilled to taste. The side dishes included garlic mashed potatoes and cheese bread rolls, that were standard by request. The signature drink was the Brazilian Cocktail, The Caipirinha.
There was so much food at Texas de Brazil, that I did not get the chance to sample everything. There were sixteen different types of meat present at the restaurant, and I was able to sample six of them. Some of the meats I tasted included, the chicken breast wrapped in bacon, chicken sausage, pork ribs, Brazilian sausage, Flank Steak and the Brazilian Picanha. I also tried the shrimp salad, portabella mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, parmesan bread, iced tea and for the dessert the Pecan Pie.
I enjoyed my experience and overall the restaurant was very nice. The interior was dark wood, white table clothes, colored and festive glassware and beautiful lighting, the ambiance was perfect. There were people sitting and chatting at the bar, laughter and talking everywhere in the restaurant and a sense of happiness throughout the steakhouse. The restaurant had a beautiful Brazilian flare to it. There were beautiful pictures of Brazil scenery and artwork.
The wait time was long however, and the line was outside of the door. Reservations were available, which we found out once inside of the restaurant. The service was wonderful and the servers were all very friendly. The waiters or “Gauchos”, Spanish for cowboys, came to the table and refilled our plates with meat as soon as we were done. We were given a card to use to request more meat. Once the card was turned over to red, the servers knew that we no longer wanted any food. The only downside was that the more popular meats were not readily available. The servers were quick to request meats when requested. The food was delicious. It was worth the experience. Everything at the salad bar was fresh, and it was constantly being refilled by the kitchen staff. It was a great experience. The negatives were the price and the wait time, $50.00 per person for the meats and bread, and another $25.00 for the salad bar, not including the dessert.
The restaurant seems culturally representative of the Brazilian culture. Brazil is known for its flare, bright colors and delicious food, and the restaurant showcased all of these traits. The restaurant although very formal had great color in the glassware (cobalt blue), and the crisp white table cloth. Nice lights and delicious Brazilian style food and deserts.
I would definitely return to this restaurant. The next time though, I would make sure I had a reservation. This restaurant exceeded my expectations and everything was delicious. The food is a little pricey, but for everything you get, it is a good price.
