Throughout the world there has been, and will be, many different forms of government and many different forms of leadership. Entering a fictitious society such as Saharia is an incredible opportunity to pursue a new way of thinking and a new way of approaching the governmental system. History is filled with people and countries that have not looked into the past in order to make a best decision for their future, and this will not be the case when it comes to Saharia. There will be a solid an humble mix of what has happened to countries in the past as well as innovative and exciting ways of looking at the future. This paper looks at the newly run country of Saharia and discusses the decisions that I, as the leader, have made to make it one of the most desirable and exciting places on the planet Earth.
First, when looking at any society, there needs to be a discussion as to what government is going to be led. Throughout time there have been many different forms of leaders. These different forms include, but are not limited to, presidents, bodies of Congress, and Kings. For Saharia there needs to be a choice that is smart for not only those currently living there but also for our future generations. Looking at previous accomplishments throughout the world I have decided to go with a Presidential government that would be elected in the form of democracy, and there are multiple reasons. When looking at countries who have done such a system, such as the United States of America, there has been known success. By having the people elect a President of Saharia you are allowing for change to occur every so often, whenever decided. This change would not only benefit the leadership and the higher offices but also the citizens as they would feel the ability to change someone whom they may not have liked at the time. The United States of America has shown much progress and much success with using the Presidential system, and unlike the system of royalty in England, it allows for the people to feel involved in the ever changing ways of the government.
Economically it is extremely difficult to decided how I would maintian and further grow the economy of Saharia. I strongly believe that what is happening in the country at this time is not working, as many people are experiencing poverty and living a lifestyle that is not fit for any human being. With the finding of oil it is important to capatalize on this as a country. There is an opportunity to grow as a country by strengthening our capital city, and possibly moving it, to where the oil was found. By doing this it will not only build up the people, towns and cities that we have now but it will also attract new investors and harder workers to the country.
Industrialization is something that is not easily debated against. Looking throughout history it has been proven that countries who have chosen to industrialize have become successful. In attempting to find out a reason why it is important to rememebr that the selection to industrialize is not one that needs to come with not further change or be held within parameters. When Saharia makes the decision to move forward with the oil and really attempt to market it, there needs to be a push by one hundred percent of the population. People need to realize that the choice was not only made to benefit the government but the country as a whole. After there is an establishment of the new endeavors then there can be further establishment when it comes to the farming and the agriculture fields. It is not necessary for Saharia to be a country that focuses solely on one aspect of living, but there must be a mix of expanding from what we already have and exploring endeavors as to which made us nervous before, but not we realize can lead to great things.
Oil is obviously something that we now hold as a commodity, and we allow a company to come in and drill. There is an issue with the fact that Nigeria allows these companies to come in with no strings attached and drill for oil. With this happening there is an obvious competition with who wants to pay for the oil and where they want to pay it. I have decided that I would love for the company to continue what they are doing but I would have certain restrictions on what they were doing. The reasoning for the restrictions is for a few obvious reasons. The first is that the oil was found by us and is currently located on our land. Although we know we have competition we also know that we hold one of the world’s most precious commodities. The second is the fact that we can easily shut off the supply whenever we feel like things aren’t going a way that we expected. The restrictions will not be difficult and will be laid out before the project continues, and there will also be explanations as to why we chose these restrictions, as is the best way to conduct business.
The main restriction that I would place on the company that is coming through and seeking the oil is the fact that they need to make sure to employ at least seventy-five percent of their workforce with workers from Saharia. The reasoning behind this should be an easy one, we need to make sure that we are not just making money off of the oil but also that we are allowing the country to grow, expand, and become fruitful in the future because of the oil as well. The company will need to make sure that they allow for ample hiring within the country throughout certain time periods and the employees that they hire must be residents of the country for at least five years. The reasoning for the restriction on the amount of years that these workers lived in the country is because the company could easily move workers that they want into Saharia and then providing them with the jobs they would have before moving the people in.
Another huge restriction that will be placed on the company is one that allows for the drilling but that all environmental risks are taken upon by the company themselves. When it comes to drilling for oil history has shown that there are many risks that are associated with the task. With these risks come the liability that there will be a major oil spill or injury and death to their workers, this must be taken on by the company themselves as they are the ones in the pursuit of the commodity.
There will not only be inspections of the workforce to make sure that seventy-five percent of them are of Saharian decent, but there will also be an inspection of the workplace conditions. Looking at what has happened throughout the world it is important to realize that some of these companies from other countries come through and have miserable work conditions, that will not be the case here. Our worker’s not only need to feel as if they are wanted by the company, but also that they want to come to work on a daily basis. The foundation of society is not based on the fact that people have jobs, but it is based on the fact that people truly enjoy their jobs. If people enjoy their jobs and are getting paid well, annual raises, and bonuses then they will continue to stimulate the economy of Saharia. With the stimulation of the economy there will not only be an increase in purchases, but the moral will cause more people to move to the great country of Saharia.
There will not be many restrictions on civil parties in my society. The fact that people are able to work in such great conditions also lends itself to allowing people to think for themselves. As long as people are handling things in a respectful and lawful way there will be no restriction on political parties, unions, or any other civil group. The reasoning behind this is because I do not want to place a restriction on people and the way they think. Placing a restriction on people would not only limit the growth of the individual but would also stunt the growth of the society as a whole. People can not expand their mindset when they are limited to what to believe or how to act inside and outside of the work environment. People need the ability to think freely and truly expand their mindset if you want the society to grow to it’s fullest potential.
Saharia will be extremely similar to the United States of American when I am implementing not only the government offices but also the beliefs in the workforce. It is important that people are able to think for themselves and that is apparent throughout my entire structure of the society. By allowing people to vote for themselves on a singular figurehead such as a President I am instilling faith into the society which would boost self-worth, which will eventually help the society as a whole. I will also allow the oil company to continue to drill, as it is important to realize that it is necessary for the growth of the country, but I will also make sure that they are helping our society grow by hiring many of the local workers that need to have a job. With work would come the freedom of political parties and other civil groups. There is no necessity in stopping the continuous growth of our citizen’s minds. By limiting their growth it will be impossible to obtain and grow true, loyal, and intelligent citizens.
