Design Zero Waste Project
Zero waste is a great idea, but on a global scale, of course, utopian. Because change people's attitude to the problem is tempting and absolutely mindless consumption - it is the task of today and almost unreal. Advertising, speed of life, the promotion of passions, availability and variety of tempting treats - all this creates in man the infinite desire to take, to buy, to have, to store, to store, to increase, to change, to chase - just to be in trend, to be in the flow, to be at the top.
However, not all is as hopeless and not realizable as it might seem at first glance. Everyone can easily try to implement at least some principles of "zero waste" in their individual lives and, thus, at least for a bit of help the planet to breathe more freely through the daily awareness of their ecological footprint.
There are many ways to significantly reduce the amount of waste and simultaneously save money, resources and energy. Among them there is the use of reusable instead of disposable items (utensils, batteries, etc.). It is necessary to remember about reducing the amount of waste not only at home but also at the workplace. For example, in the office a significant portion of the waste is paper. Used paper should be put in the trash, not just throw it away.
We cannot say that our ability to live reduced to "zero waste". But we try to be vigilant and be aware of what and how we consume. And if it is possible to reduce consumption, we did not neglect this opportunity.
Preference is given to the goods with an eco - label, their production generates less waste. Instead of bottled water for drinking water we use filters for the tap or a filter-jugs. We try to avoid buying disposable items: utensils, shaving machines, lighters, napkins, paper handkerchiefs, kitchen towels, foil, baking paper, toothpicks.
Instead of shower gel, soaps and scrubs we can use natural remedies - milled mixtures of dried herbs and clay. It is both useful and economical, and eliminates ejection of the package after use. Usable clothes, shoes, household appliances, etc. that we no longer need, first offer to our friends or refer to the store, where others will be able to buy it profitable.
We collect used paper separately from other debris. It can be taken for recycling, because one sheet of office paper decomposes in the soil only after two years. Anyway, before throwing something, we think, can this be repaired to make it into something else or to give someone.
All these basic measures develop thoughtful consumption and gradually cut according to follow fashion trends, change things without explicit need and treat nature as an infinite inexhaustible resource. If every person on Earth changes in a similar way to the maximum and reduces the amount of garbage in the result in our life, then our chances increase in 6 billion of times, that soon we will cleanse our Land. When this happens depends on each of us and all of us together.
