Nowadays, many people are quite familiar with the “shadow business” that has many as many different directions and one of them is a prostitution. The following regulation must not have any kind of rights to exist in modern society as it yearly brings horrible consequences as sex trafficking, sex exploitation, and child sex trade. Deshpande et al., in his article Sex Trafficking of Women and Girls, illustrates how the illegal business made a fresh start more than one hundred years ago, and how the pimps searched the young girls in order to sell them into sex slavery. These young girls were defined as courtesans or mistresses of love, who had children and husbands but were eager to find out new feelings. They sold their bodies for a reward, and since then they received new names in our society, they were called prostitutes. These women, with such light attitude towards their life, were afraid to be exposed, that is why they did not have another choice but to hide their true intentions, illegally accept clients in some flats or houses. These actions were illegal, in fact, women did not have any rights and were afraid to be caught by society. Sawa, in his article Prostitution, debates about the horrible consequences when these women were caught, everyone considered them to be dirty and exile, mainly people avoided having any kind of conversation with them. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, prostitutes were given the rights. If they were lonely mothers and had to bring up children, but did not have the necessary amount of money, they could run this kind of business, but they were supposed to obey one rule, in any case, their children must not be aware of their mother’s immoral business. The following rules made the prostitutes find clients on the streets in order to earn some money. Rosenberg and Weiner, in their article Prostitutes and AIDS: A Health Department Priority? debated about the health issue, how he prostitutes passed on HIV and AIDS without being acknowledged that they were infected. They could not be sure whether the client was married or healthy, violent or dangerous, they did not care, all they wanted was to earn some money, at least illegally. Today, some countries try to cover “prostitution multimillion business” and do not pay a close attention to it, prostitution and sex trafficking or sex exploitation open up new ways to earn money by increasing child and women sex trade, affecting social health , as well as extending incurable illnesses among people and promoting easy way to make profit , selling the bodies in order to earn money.
First and foremost, the standard way of thinking about the following topic brings the discussion that sex trafficking and sex exploitation proved to be a significant issue not only in the USA but also in a global community. This regulation is not beneficial to society as it evokes such problems as degradation of women’s rights, poor public health, and social disadvantages. Deshpande et al. claim that “Sex trafficking victims acquire adverse physical and psychological health conditions that require both medical and legal attention”( Deshpande et al. e22). Basically, the author believes that young women and children face psychological trauma once they are free. They cannot make a fresh start because they cannot believe that they are finally free from daily violent abuse and animal treatment. The mentioned issues affected both their mental and emotional health because those people had daily lived in fear, they did not have a chance to express their minds or to ask for a day off. If they showed their character they could be beaten almost to death and nevertheless they could not move or could hardly speak they were still sexually exploited. Moreover, the author overlooks the important point about the prostitution and its connection to sex trafficking. He states that some people identify those two issues as synonyms, but they are wrong to make such assumptions. Prostitution is mainly sex work which is directed to bring satisfaction to the client, while sex trafficking explores a couple of spheres such as stripping, exotic dancing, sex trade, live shows and lots of other. Traffickers or pimps buy young children directly from parents, or mainly find young beautiful feed them with promises, promise them competitive salary abroad and then easily involve by threatening them to the illegal business of sexual slavery.
Although the child prostitution may seem trivial, it is in fact crucial in terms of today’s associations with family-generated factors. At the first glance, teenagers appear to be highly emotional if they daily confront with a discord in the family, which influence them to make such a thoughtless decision as running away from their homes. According to Sawa , “Most cities lack emergency shelters, the female runaway must turn to the streets for support almost immediately” (Sawa,1877). Ultimately, what is at stake here that young girls are driven into confusion and dark games by traffickers or pimps, who see potential victims and may easily identify the girls who have problems with money and are not against to earn some. Pimps give them a shelter, some food, and even money, they pretend to be good and once they gain the victim’s trust they lure them into prostitution or sell abroad into sex slavery. These teenage girls are threatened, they are in an unknown country, they do not have any kind of documents to prove their identity and they do not know the local language, that is main the advantage to pimps, because these teenage girls cannot explain what happened to them, and maybe they do not have a chance to call to police. The issue of child prostitution has proved to be beneficial to traffickers, as this immoral action cannot be legal or illegal, the law should be on children’s side and it should punish pimps or traffickers severely if they decide to use young and defenseless children in their sex business.
It cannot be said so directly, but according to Rosenberg, prostitutes who daily have sex contact with a couple of partners, can be at high risk of becoming infected with human immunodeficiency virus .When it comes to the topic of health, arguably, the most significant factor that prostitution is not a legalized business. The society now is considered to be at risk more than ever before, eventually, they are disturbed, as it is a known fact that the prostitution is connected with the issue of public health. Rosenberg states that “The prostitutes pass on fatal illnesses and most of them are not aware that they are passing it on the male partners or that they are infected” (Rosenberg et al.,418).The point is that the prostitutes do not have extra money to test one’s health. In fact, the health treatment is very expensive nowadays, if you do not have a medical insurance. The essence of this argument is that some prostitutes are aware that they are infected, but this issue does not affect their mores, they continue doing their job, passing HIV, AIDS or other illnesses on the partners. On the one hand, this issue has a contradictory nature because usually, the prostitutes do not take care of their health, especially those who are considered as a pimp’s property. On the other hand, if some of them had a little knowledge that AIDS is incurable illness, they could inform the client that it is dangerous to have any kind of sex contact with them, this action would definitely be heroic and humane.
All things considered, prostitution is a global issue because it promotes women and child sexual abuse which extends fatal illnesses and the following regulation can not be controlled or reduced. It seems that legalization of prostitution is a move in the right direction, as nowadays people are not embarrassed when they hire escort service in business trips, and these ladies pretend to be their wives or girlfriends. So, the prostitution should also be the kind of service, but “safe service”. It may reduce the demand for child and woman sex trade and diminish the passing of fatal illnesses, but still, women should not search easy ways to earn money and must be helped in order to find legal and moral jobs. On the contrary, when the topic of discussion is children sex slavery, this issue has immoral subsoil, children prostitution must not be legalized or be legal because they are young and naïve kids who are not capable of making adult decisions.
