The Rolling Stones is the famous English rock band that was setup in April 1962 by Brian Jones who played guitar and harmonica, Mick Jagger the lead vocalist and guitar player, Keith Richards also played guitar and assisted in vocals and the first song of this band “Marquee Club”, was released in 1962. Sticky fingers is one of the most successful albums of this band and the work on this album started with the recording of the first song “Sister Morphine”, in Alabama in December 1969, however the official recordings started in 1970.
The Album had variety of rock and roll and mellow tracks; Sticky Fingers is just brilliant and is everything you could expect from a true Rock and Roll record. Brown Sugar is an ideal introduction to Sticky Fingers. Distinctive vocals and unforgettable saxophone solo really make this track stick in the memory. A song alike to Brown Sugar is Bitch. Bitch has an amazing riff and guitar solo that any Rolling Stones fan like me would love.
Perhaps the best thing about this album is its assortment of songs. Can’t You Hear Me Knocking is very in keeping with the Rolling Stones’ style. There is a lengthy instrumental sectionnear the end where the banddemonstrate their toptalent. Conversely, also on the album is You Gotta Move. This song contains rather odd vocals and is very much of an older blues style and hence was not able to create a striking impact as the other songs.
When putting this album together, The Rolling Stones have done a great job and that’s the reason behind this album is a favourite with most Stones fans. With a perfect blend of songs, and in an intelligent order, Sticky Fingers is a must for any rock and roll collection. If given an opportunity to rate this album on ten, it would not be wrong to settle for a nine.
