Having studied in British system school (Cambridge IGCSE) up to Grade 11 (till aged 16) and in American system school for Grade 12, I finally graduated when I was 17 and understood that now I would like to try a different type of education system. I want to understand the differences and to obtain new knowledge.
My choice fell to Australia because it is well-known for its high standards of education and quality of the obtained knowledge. This is the Motherland of such famous historians as Suzanne Baker and Arthur Basham. Australia also invites by being a developed nation with sustained level of development and observance of human rights.
I was interested in engineering as I considered it to be a pathway to my new major; however when I entered this program I felt like I do not really want to be an engineer. That is why I decided to apply for international relations and politics, even though it seemed to be very radical change of my career path. I am sure that international relations and politics program might help me understand the operation and performance of international organizations that facilitate global development and cooperation. I’d like to know more about world affairs and new global tasks and priorities. I am interested in learning about the concept of war and peace keeping operations. Originating from Kuwait, I’d like to understand the influence of religious tensions on the concept of war and peace. Eleanor Roosevelt once said “it isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work on it”, and I am truly devoted to the idea of promoting peace and security across the world. I am also seeking an opportunity to improve my language skills and I believe that entering this university is a perfect chance for this.
I admire George Gallaway for his point of views and straightforwardness. He always tells the truth thought many politicians prefer hiding it. Gallaway once mentioned that “some things are too important to be left to the private sector”, and I want to have competence to discuss such things. I believe that my character can foster my learning process because I like to talk and exchange opinions with different people. When I think about having an opportunity to learn all the abovementioned things, I feel like an explorer who tries to discover the underlying issues and problems in order to understand the world. Leaders of the different States rule their countries as if they are playing chess, and I am eager to be able to predict the next step.
While choosing the university, the Bond University impressed me by its motto “Bringing Ambition to Life.” It is exactly what I look for and I believe professors can help me develop my ambitions. The Bond University is famous for its students’ life and different activities. I am aware of the impeccable reputation of the university and famous alumni who graduated it. This all only deepened my interest in studying. Moreover, I was very happy to find out that the program I chose lasts 2 years which is very time-effective. After graduating I can consider an option of applying for Master’s degree and completing higher education. My home country is Kuwait and I hope I will return and continue my education in it as well, but currently I enjoy having an opportunity to study and to get experience by travelling and discovering new countries at the same time.
As for my future career, I am highly inspired and motivated to be engaged into politics or diplomacy. My country needs well-educated and well-experienced ambassadors and governors with perfect command of English.
