Personal information must be protected unless the person decides to share it. This would make the individuals further their commitment in trying out new ideas knowing clearly that they stand to benefit shall the idea get through. If not protected, very few people would commit themselves in research and innovation. On the other hand, protection of information is a barrier to innovation. With readily available information, it becomes very easy for one to conduct further research and emerge with new ideas.
