“Ladies and gentlemen, the Modern World History, which is referred to as the modern era, involves approaches given by various countries all over the world towards the time after post-classical age. I agree with the main themes evident in the modern history, which are race, religious faith, and ideology. To begin with, after reviewing the history of race, I found that people lived in inhumane situations due to racism that prevailed throughout the world countries. People lost their traditions and others were evicted forcefully from their native homes. Most native Africans and Americans were forced to live in inhospitable regions due to their skin colors, an indication that racism prevailed. In the African lands, some places were inaccessible by the whites while the Africans could not access some of the whites’ lands. I find the issue of religious faith and ideology worth of discussion. The Society of Jesus Ministries comes out successfully among the Americans, though its influence was depicted mostly in Africa and Asia.
I agree partially with this outcome since some bias is evident. In the nineteenth century, Protestant groups had some influence in Asia and Africa. These Protestants aimed at contributing to the new imperialism by converting people to Christianity. After analyzing the missionaries’ work on new imperialism, I support their motives whereby; they proceeded to engage in medical work and teaching. Missionaries had a positive impact in modern world history since they established schools, hospitals, and churches. I do not agree with the historical concept of power since women seemed to be subdued by men. Women, especially, in the European and American countries seemed to have no voice. Their role was dealing with social and spiritual beliefs of women in foreign lands and improving their treatment of men. Men are viewed as supreme beings in the modern era. The main themes are vital in the modern world history since learners acquire knowledge on leadership and learn about different people’s lifestyles. Different issues are addressed, which came to convert countries into a better modern context, later. These themes are persuasive throughout the context and reinforced goals of the people (Robert & William 15).
In my argument about the modern world history, I would include the themes of industrialization and global capitalism, nationalism, reform, and revolution. I would not assume the concept of global migration in the modern era. I would include the themes by influencing the people’s interests, writing articles and addressing them publicly to create emphasis to the world on their importance to the modern history. The themes are based on the living standards of people and how they survived economically the in modern world history. In my review, I realized that industrialization influenced the production of goods over the world during the era. However, industrialization progression was slow but became global eventually. It contributed to the specialization and division of labor. I support the industrialized states in the modern era that have motivated employees, who concentrate on improving their working conditions to increase wages, though some of them are opposed to the capitalist misuse of employees and hence, promote alternative dreams. In my analysis, the eighteenth century marked the start of rapid revolution and revolt in present governments of new nations in the world. The revolutionary step was triggered by the enlightenment thought that existed in the people’s minds. People had ideas that challenged philosophies of social relations. I find this appealing since people in the modern era developed a new sense of union based on belief, language, and various social customs. Therefore, I added the theme of migration in my speech, since the number of migrants was rapid during this time.
Some few cases were recorded whereby, the people’s economic status improved due to migration while others’ deteriorated as they were viewed as slaves. In both cases, I find that migration produced two humanities for transporting and receiving goods, hence imposing challenges to governments on monitoring the flow of people. It caused varying statistics on demography as well. However, demography and geography are minor themes because the study of the human population was not a main issue in the modern world history. However, most countries in Europe use the demographic data to determine the distribution of their resources. Demographers use marriage records, baptism cards, and burials as sources of their data. Governments used these statistics to plan for their citizens during the modern history era as well. Geography facilitated the study of residents and earth’s phenomena. In the modern world history, people did not create much emphasis on geography, though they viewed environmental geography, which incorporates human and physical geography as significant. They based their arguments on the relationship between human beings and the environment. I found that geographers used descriptive, analytical and regional approaches to conducting their geographic analysis in their research (Jurgen 24). Various geographers such as Morris Davies and Sir Halford used these techniques to collect and provide correct geographical data.
In my analysis, I included the political, social, cultural and economic concepts, which dominate and are persuasive to the modern world history. Politically, during this era, there existed issues and wars related to speedy changes and the loss of power of traditional and social norms. Mechanization led to the first French Revolution, which contributed to the end of the early period under the influence of economic and political changes. In his argument, Karl Marx concluded his approach to politics and history by saying that the history of all previously existing societies is ancient times of class fights. I agree with the Marxian theory, which identified that history was influenced by conditions that occurred materially at any given time. It meant that people relied on each other regarding feeding, housing, and clothing, which are the basics for survival. I linked the social concept with the social Darwinism argument, which involved various beliefs based on the concept that allowed competition among persons, nations, assemblies and all people in the society. In this view, the society’s progression appeared sovereign, which implies that individuals had their means for survival (Christopher 30).
I based my argument on people, places, and events that unfolded during the modern world history. Some people were noted due to their contributions and associations in the modern era. For instance, I came across Sigmund Freud, who was famous for his definition of sexual interest, which was a key motivational vigor of mortal life. Albert Einstein became famous due to the special relativity theory, which he stated during the modern era. These themes led to the American revolt in North America where its government was conquered during the era. In my analysis, events that unfolded included Imperialism in Russia where Russia was announced an empire and was known as the world’s control. I realized that slavery declined during this era when a slave revolution arose at Haiti in Britain. The United States monarchies’ such as Holland, France, and Switzerland improved politically. The most notable thing is the modern world history, which outdoes the western civilization.”
