Company’s CEO’s are not only bestowed with the responsibility of taking care of administrative duties, but also have the responsibility of protecting the wellbeing of their workforce. Internal and external strategies should be used by CEO to promote employees health and wellbeing. The company can introduce a benchmark against which to determine the developments of its efforts to improve employee wellbeing and health. Because obesity is a huge predicament in the American society, it is important that the company build on a platform of promoting better health by beginning with its workforce. There are several measures that your company can take to deal with this issue. Your company should earnestly fight against obesity and other health related risk, which may arise as a result of using some of your products. Workers in the company are in most cases dependent on the products that they produce. Therefore improving the nutritional value of the products produced by the company should be the starting point for this company. In this way, workers can eat health. Healthy workers are always motivated and self-driven and in this way they can be able to give back to their company (Sloan 29).
Secondly, in order to encourage workers to remain healthy, this company should create teams that represent the company in various functions. Various companies have traditionally had their own teams in various team sports (Perrewe 63).The participants within these teams have been the workers within these companies. Allowing workers to access extracurricular activities is instrumental in making sure that workers are able to exercise and remain healthy.
In order to fight obesity among its workers, McDonald’s should provide its employees with nutritional facts. Employees should be informed about the kind of foods that are healthy to eat and also those foods that put the health to workers within their company. In order to enhance their efforts, it is important for the company to improve its products first because most workers feed on the company’s food especially during breaks. McDonald’s should not only be geared towards maximizing gains but should also make sure that the wellbeing of its workers is met. In addition, it is important to understand that workers in McDonald work for lengthy hours due to the high demand of the company’s products. It is important for the company to devise mechanisms that allow workers to work for only specific number of hours because enough rest is a key necessity for a healthy workforce (Nelson 41). In addition because McDonald is a nutrition company, employee health is important because it determines how food is going to be handled.
In addition, as a corporate entity, Macdonald should make sure that its employees are often advised and counseled about some of the strategies that they can adopt in order to enhance the health of the workers. Some of strategies that can be adopted would include the participation of workers in workshops and counseling sessions about some of the tips to better health. In this way, the company will have displayed its commitment towards maintain a healthy workforce and also making sure that the wellbeing of its workers is adequately addressed. If these strategies are adopted, then this company will enjoy a healthy and more motivated workforce that is ready to serve customers.
