Twilight Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims at granting wished to the elderly. The organization supports the seniors around the nation by helping them acquire their wishes despite being at old age. In addition, the foundation understands that the elders have minimal income that can hardly keep them awake or some seniors who reside in nursing homes but cannot make their wishes become a reality. Given the income disparity across the US, the foundation helps the elders to maintaining the physical and mental happiness through supporting them achieve some of their wishes. It is crucial to note that this foundation supports the elderly above 68 years old and live below the poverty line or are nursing home residents. Thus, this foundation helps bring happiness and joy to the elderly by making their wishes to become a reality.
Authenticity at work is important because it is divided in three components which are: how one relate oneself with others at work, how an individual’s values and beliefs impact their work, and how does an individual feel personally about working on a day to day basis. These three components explain the importance and effect of oneself relative to the type of work varies with the individual, and therefore, determines the type of work and workplace that is positive for the particular individual. The importance of these experiences translates into how work is viewed and determines how “authentic” we feel at work. This is a crucial concept at the Twilight Wish Foundation because the staff aims at making the elders feel appreciated and loved.

Twilightwish.org – This is their website that records some of the wishes the foundation has granted to the seniors. Given that the organization relies on donations to grant the senior’s wishes, one can donate some money to the website that embraces a good cause.
Stacey Richards – Marguerite Quinn was elected in the House of Representatives in 2006 and she was recognized for her work with the senior citizens as she supported them through financial grants. This indicates that she recognized them as part of the greater community and also she thanked the foundation for supporting the seniors.
AP Online – This article records how Twilight Wish Foundation has helped a number of elders achieve their dreams.
Simpson, J – This article shows how the Twilight Wish Foundation has had partnerships to help the organization in terms of financial help to make the elder’s wishes come true. In addition, the author writes that the the organization aims at having branches across the US.
Urgo, J – This is a good storyline of how an elder got his wish met by the foundation. The organization helps seniors appreciate life by making them happy through helping them achieve their dreams. Spiritual authenticity elevates us to that level in that people volunteer to promote the cause, which is making elders happy.
- Methodology
The Twilight Wish Foundation meets the authenticity at work criteria because one of its mission statements is to be a healing action to the community. This means that the organization looks for passionate people who love to help the elders have a happy life by making their wish come true. The rule of thumb in the organization is being positive towards the community to bring change. The organization also seeks to give clarity to both the employees and the employer in that people grow every time.
In the research, I will use both the qualitative and the quantitative data to show how the organization receives a zero-sum profit and also discuss some of the challenges it faces as a result of changing employees often.
I will ensure that I look at other sources and critics to get a clear understanding of the overall performance of the organization
- Conclusion
I hope to find out how the organization has created a sustainable value in the community by looking at some of the reviews from the customers and the employees. I would also like to find out what inspired this module by encompassing spiritual values to an individual’s line of work.
I have limited materials that talk about the Twilight Foundation despite being in operational for over a decade. I am not sure if I will found out more about spiritualism and how it influences one’s line of work given that we have different beliefs and values.
