Freidman is not a futurist but a presentist of sorts. In this epic he gives an encounter of the flat world which he has encountered during his journey. He calls for a green revolution which is ultimate the subject matter of the book. The book is an epitome for the freedom of speech. The author tries to analyze the term “ globalization” ever since the period of the 21st century. He was a person who had a strong belief in the philosophy of changes and harboured negative connotations towards the traditional societies which resisted changes.
When Freidman refutes that the world we are living in is flat, with its credentials it is quite difficult believing such a comment, but in no way it can be implied that the world is flinching. In addition to this the epic also focuses on the issue of what flattening of the world means for America in general and along with it what it means for the developing countries of the world as well. Along with it Freidman discusses geopolitics and states an example of a country in the form of Mexico. When the world is flat and even the presence of slightest of variations can make Mexico which incitingly borders the United States thousands of miles away. The author in general feels that this too is the similar case with a country like China as well.
The question on how to change the world has become the bible of social internship in a way. A careful observation replicates the fact that the world is not flat, but it is also not round in any way also.
