I have always heard about atheist, but I had never met with one until when I was travelling home. I have always wished to meet one and hear a personal perspective of an atheist. I have always known them to refute the existence of God as a supernatural being or the existence of any spirit. Atheists also preach against organized religion and decry it as ignorant and uneducated. According to them, everything that happens in the world has a scientific reason behind it. I had watched John Harris’ video interview with Richard Dawkins, who argued that somebody as intelligent as Jesus would have been an atheist (Harris 2011). Dawkins also urged all atheists to openly declare their position on religion and fight the idea of Christianity. In this paper, I will be convincing an atheist on the existence of God. I would wish he understand the existence of religion and convince him on my belief in the Supernatural being.
I would start by telling my friend with reference from the bile that says that he who does not accept correction is stupid (Proverbs 12:16). Additionally, I would tell him that a fool has said in his heart, there is no God (Psalms 14). The most important reason that I believe in God is the story of creation. Evolution fail to prove the beginning of life, however, creation clearly tells us that God created man in his own image and likeness.
The faith that I have in God has become enough proof to me that He exists. I have seen and read about miracles that prove that He exists. The other thing that has made me believe in God is the organization and uniformity in the laws of nature, this organization automatically implies that there is a supernatural being controlling them. Science only tries to explain about the existence of this balance, but has never tried to support the balance.
Jesus Christ came to the earth and proved that God exists by defying the laws of nature. He rose against gravity, rose from the dead, multiplied food to feed a multitude and did miracles like healing the sick and blind. Finally, the scriptures tell us that whoever wants to know there is God shall seek and find him. I would show love to my friend and advice to open his heart and seek God, since He reveals himself only to people who seek him with a contrite heart. I would also assure my friend that people who believe in God have peace inside them since they do not question many things.
