The current issue that has North America is a clash between the Buddhist community and the Muslims. Buddhist monks have been reported to hinder the extension of medical services to the Rohingyas, a community that is considered to be serving as spies of the British. This move is slowly taking roots as the community is being denied employment opportunities. There is a serious clash between the Buddhist community and the Muslim who differ in cultural values, and religious practices (Pastor, 163). It seems as if it is a political fight between tow cultures with one wanting to dominate the other. It is much expected that president Obama will help ease the tensions which have become a serious crisis in the North (Fisher).
There is also the issue of racial discrimination, which continually haunts the people. The natives because of their skin color and their backgrounds look them down. With the growing statistics which reveal that an average Indian earns less than what an average American earns has made them to be least respected and undermined. This has also affected the rate at which they are looked at when it comes to political influence (Castro-Rea, 99). Even those who have managed political positions are not as influential as their American counterparts because of the attitudes that have been held against them.
Another issue that has faced the political environment of North America is religion where there is a mix of Christianity and Buddhism. Children born to the Indian families find themselves going to schools where their cultural and religious foundations are interfered with. They end up being absorbed in a very different religious atmosphere and hence growing up to undermine fellow Indians (Pastor, 94). There are also immigrants from India who come and get absorbed in the American culture. This hence makes the region to be divided and hence not being able to make unified decisions.
