This is because mobile devices are now enabling consumers to be more connected compared before. In this case, consumers may have a positive feedback to the company, which spends more time in understanding consumer-based needs and this will be a good opportunity for the company to provide better customer service. On the other hand, consumers continuously change their needs in which becomes a challenge for the company to cope with these changes. However, companies may take advantage these challenges to take advantage of their existing technology to become more efficient and more intelligent provider.
In addition, online businesses may have the opportunity to enable and adapt these changes globally (gs1.org). Using the mobile technology, companies may be able to connect with their consumers easier and faster through mobile devices.
Challenges/Opportunities of E-Commerce
Electronic commerce has many opportunities and challenges as it is being executed by companies. One of the opportunities is its ability to engage with the customers and listen to their needs (thenextweb.com). This opportunity will build a strong relationship between the company and its consumers. More companies are now taking advantage the use of internet to achieve this goal such as using the social media and other web applications. On the other hand, ensuring that online consumers will entrust their personal information over the company’s website can be a challenge. That is because of some of the reported online frauds that victimized some of the online shoppers. Trust over the online customer’s information is challenging to gain. However, this is an opportunity for the company to provide a short, but well-written privacy policy to make the customers aware what they are about to share and whom with whom they are sharing their information. Through this manner, customer’s trust can be gained little by little towards a strong business relationship between them and the company.
