Two business owners are seen coming out of their busy factories with workers rushing to get home. Factory 1 is colorful, cheerful and organized. Factory 2 is black and white and disorganized. The workers from Factory 1 are happy and chat with ease with their boss while the workers from factory 2 are grumpy and seem keen on running away from their boss.
Cheerful slow music plays in the background as the two business owners begin to chat
Business owner 1: How do you do it, mate?
Business owner 2: How do I do what?
Business owner 1: How do you keep them so happy and cheerful? They look like they haven’t worked a day in their lives!
Business owner 2: Oooh now that is a little trade secret I do not mind sharing with you. Walk with me pal.
The two business owners walk together a background with workers walking from work.
Business owner 2: I give them a reason to come here every morning
Business owner 1 (interjects): (with a hint of arrogance in his voice) But mine have a reason to come to work too. They get paid every month without failure. Let’s face it, who does not need the money? Besides I gave them a job. They should be grateful for that. The unemployment rates in this nation are staggering.
Business owner 2: (chuckles) it’s more than that. I offer them health insurance. Every one of my workers is covered.
Business owner 1: (surprised). You must be kidding me. In this economy, that is impossible! With the costs spiraling to the roof, even paying salaries on time is a luxury.
Business owner 2: That is what I thought initially. But once I did the math in the long term, I wasted no time in insuring all my workers. Besides, the insurance companies were quite helpful when I approached them. Most of them offered me irresistible discounts which made it quite difficult to settle on one. You can split your payments into amounts that you can comfortably pay.
Business owner 1: Wait a minuteyou mean you actually spend all that money insuring your workers? Now that is what I call wasting money. How do you keep afloat? I would not do it in a million years. Money does not grow on trees. I run a business not a charity.
Business owner 2: Relax mate, it isn’t that expensive. Besides, since I started insuring my workers, productivity has gone up by 30%. I sell more volumes thanks to a motivated sales force, I produce more volumes, absenteeism is a thing of the past and my workers are always motivated. I comfortably pay the premiums, meet my running costs and make a healthy profit.
Business owner 1: (surprised) Really? You must show me how this works in practice. Could I come over to your office tomorrow for further discussion?
Business owner 2: You are more than welcome, pal.
The business owners’ part ways as the music slowly fades out
Voiceover booms out loudly as the picture of the president zooms in the background with photos of workers from different sectors
Insuring your workers is securing your business. A healthy work force is a healthy business. Insure your workers today.
