Trend could be defined as a general direction in which a particular item, subject or object tends to move. It could also be used to mean a style of doing things that would be currently acceptable as new and attracts everybody. That is, trend is a style that everybody would wish to be associated to. Trend prediction would, therefore, imply the ability of a person to be able to forecast a specific line in which a chosen field would likely to move in the foreseeable future. Burning fabric was a specific textile line whose trendy nature could also be predictable.
The choice of color palettes could go a long way to ensuring that the right fabrics for the market were developed. The choice of colors too would also go with the target market and the target season. During the festive season, most people like spending on trendy things. Capturing that kind of market at that season of the year needed a choice of cool colors that matched the theme of the festivities. Christmas festivities, therefore, needed cool but captivating colors. Blue colors of whatever shade, a mixture of red and white on other materials and pink colors would appeal more to the market during this season.
The choice of yarn trends would also matter in the continued development of burnt fabric. The dynamics of the target market would also matter in the choice of the yarn trends. However, for most markets, there would be preference for natural fibers as opposed to manmade fibers. This could actually work with the current trends in the burnt fabric sector. For instance, a combination of cotton, wool and silk would really be attractive to the market. If the fabrics were made wholly using one type of natural fabric or were made using mixed proportions of the same yarns would add more color and strength to the material.
Both woven and hand knitted fabrics would work for this target market and season. A little bit of natural fabrics and a mixture of machine generated fabrics would provide options to this market. This type of trend would most probably be suitable for living rooms or common places where they would be sure to add life to the eyes of visitors.
This type of trend was in existence and only needed a bit of modification to be widely acknowledged. Like mentioned before, this trend would be developed for a season and specific target market: that of festive season shoppers. It would be a trend that people would probably like to associate with even after the festivities. Continuing with its development even after the festive season was over would still make sense as it would still be attractive.
The burnt material was an existing trend in recent times. It was a trend that with time continued to develop. It would, therefore, be imperative that its continued development be accompanied by market variables. It would also call into action the aspect of market prediction and research. When these were actually carried out, burnt fabrics would greatly hit the market. Like we mentioned earlier, burnt fabrics in the textile industry was mostly used in the manufacture of curtains. The market for new trends using this material would, therefore, be very definite. The target market would be not only home owners but also players in the hospitality industry. Home owners would like to make their living rooms lively during the festive season. Consequently, it would be imperative that market research and evaluation be done in these markets so that as trends would change with these burnt fabrics, the expectations of the target market would also be met.
Predicting the next fashion that would be developed would also come with the target season. For instance, most people would buy fashionable attires during the festive seasons. It would, therefore, make sense if one did a forecast for the Christmas festive season in the month of December and made all sorts of fashions that resonated with the festivities. During this season, anything that would be trending fashion wise would most likely be admired for one reason or the other. Hospitality industry players would probably want to purchase items that would not only attract holiday goers but also retain their trusted customers. Other fashion trend loyalists would also be attracted by the new trends while in this season and sales for the chosen patterns would most likely hit an all time unexpected high.
The market that would be available during the season targeted would be a very dynamic market. It would consist of people of all age groups, social classes and different tastes and preferences. Giving them this type of trendy fabrics would definitely bond with their desire for something unique and trendy during the festive season. They would certainly be looking for more from the developer’s line in subsequent seasons. Burning fabric as fashion would, therefore, have found a breakthrough in the market if this target market and season’s needs was adequately addressed.
