Critical thinking
Critical thinking can be defined as the factual ability of analyzing a particular situation in order to come up with a conclusive judgement. Therefore, the purpose of creative thinking is to enable an individual to have the mental capability to make precise decisions on a particular matter taking into consideration certain consequential result. On the other hand, the importance of critical thinking is that, it enables experts in particular fields to interpret information. Example, for the jury in courts, their critical thinking skills is quite important in enhancing their efficiency. The cognitive skills of critical thinking are; interpretation, evaluation, self-regulation, inferences and explanation. A critical thinker is expected to not only be persuasive in nature, but also analytical, open minded, systematic and this is highly based on the notion that the thoughts ought to be conveyed to the individual and at times, counter arguments may present a theory that one believed in. Therefore, based on that, critically learnt skills would be effective in creating a cornerstone of a clear and precise framework.
What is critical reading?
This refers to the process by which an individual analyses the information that one is reading in order to get a deeper understanding of the information provided for. Critical reading has been effective in the book review analysis. The college reading level is more advanced as compared to other formative stages as the main objective of reading is not only to understand, but also have facilitative skills that enables the person to critically analyze the information that they are reading as it may be poetic. According to Chall’s stage 5 reading, it mainly deals with a form of reading that is at a higher level and also to create a personal viewpoint and make a personal analysis of the information that has been written down by a different author. This can be related to the critical thinking skills and disposition in that, through the use of disposition that would be effective for a college student who would be able to internalize the information and furthermore, by being open minded it helps the students improve on their diligence and it would also facilitate prudence among the students. Lastly, through the Chall’s stage 5 reading, it facilitates analytical skills that would enable a student critically make an analysis with regards to any particular information being read by a specified author.
Implementation of critical action and reading skill
Critical action is the process of implementation of the actions that are set upon the reader coming up with precise analytical skills. It facilitates the reflection of the results that can be achieved example for lawyers and judges, the concept of critical thinking is quite effective and ought to be implemented over time. Furthermore, critical thinking can effectively be used in determing the information that helps in advocating for positive rights in the society. In advocating for a position to create a positive change, critical thinking and reading has been through incorporation of the skills into individuals in different sectors and this would be effective and reliable. In literature, critical actions are important as it enables an analysis to be made that can help with the increasing the knowledge on the specified topic.
