Starting a business involves a lot of activities. It can be a rewarding venture, but it also has challenges. I profoundly researched on childcare services in Fondulac Avenue and came to the conclusion that, it could be a good venture based on the fact that the city is very busy and it is growing at a fast rate. The rate at which Fondulac Avenue is growing is an indication that the birth rate is high and parents are in need of modern and well managed childcare services. Arguably, most of the parents in the town are busy, therefore, starting a childcare business here would be a good undertaking. According to Human Resource and social development in Fondulac Avenue, childcare industry is practiced by 8,000 individuals. The majority of caregivers is well educated young men and women. However, out of the 8,000, only a few childcare services are commercialized (Entrepreneur 67). It suggests that there are no enough modern, and well managed childcare services in Fondulac Avenue. I therefore have a good chance to test the waters of starting a new and modern childcare business in the town.
Social/Demographic
Trends in birth rates, labor force, immigration and ethnic composition play a role in determining who is in need of childcare. Individuals who have started childcare businesses in Fondulac Avenue have not considered pre-kindergarten education programs. I am looking forward to include all childcare services including;
- Pre-kindergarten educational programs
- Baby-sitting
- Preschool centres
- Nanny services
I am planning to start the business in a rented house with a modest amount of start-up cash and a few weeks of planning. Since this location is commercially located, it will take a greater investment of money, time and energy. After doing a research on childcare business in Fondulac Avenue, I presume that I will capture a large market due to the reduced market segment and target markets in the region. I will turn my love for children into an exciting venture and career. I have found that childcare business is not well strategized in Fondulac Avenue, therefore, profound training in; organized education activities, a safe, clean and well organized environment. In addition, I will consider starting up and operating my own childcare facility where I will make use of computers to help kids learn and play.
Notably, home-based Caregiving, which I plan to start comprise the bulk of the childcare workforce. Home-based caregiving represents 84% of all providers therefore, only 15% of the workforce provides childcare services in school-aged care and early childhood centres. Notably, the targeted market is home-based caregivers. With this information, I will start the business in a rented mansion and eventually move to a commercial site as the business grows.
All successful businesses have extensive knowledge about their competitors and customers. Acquiring specific and accurate information about competitors and customers is the first step I have made. This step is critical to the development and investigation of a marketing plan. Basically, such investigation requires an understanding of the needs and desires of customers, and developing promotional material that will notify customers on product service and delivery. Furnishing and designing the habitation is of the essence. From what I have gathered, an early childcare centre would require; mats, chairs, tables, shelves, book cases and storage units. A variety of outdoor toys will also be required. I have discovered that only 5% of the 84% home-based care giving centres provide all the necessary equipment needed in childcare centres. Therefore, I will invest much of the interior and facilities including; unbreakable dishes and a colourful and stimulating environment. Used equipment is a cost saving measure, I will find a source within the region to guarantee the purchase.
Regarding marketing strategy, good public service and word of mouth advertising are the best to consider when starting a childcare business. Since I am targeting a big market, I will consider newspapers, flyers, and the internet as coherent ways of promoting my business. In addition, I will consider satisfying my customers by offering the best services. Websites are also a good means of advertising, I will develop a website with details describing the location, contacts, direction, and business address. Once I launch the website, I will update it on a regular basis to capture new customers who are in need of well managed childcare centre (Lynn 112).
With all the information I have gathered on childcare business. I presume that my childcare business will attract many customers. I have profoundly researched on the business and gathered a lot of information that will enable be enlarge it. Secondly, my love for children is what drives me in the business, therefore, I believe that thriving in this competitive market will be manageable. I have studied this business long enough to determine its potential, therefore, I will use everything I have including; finances, moral support and confidence to grow the business into an admirable entity. Since I am ready to take any step required to develop the best childcare centre in Fondulac Avenue, I trust that my effort will not be in vain.
