A combination of factors has played a role in facilitating change in the role of individuality in white collar employee working conditions. First, globalization has affected almost all parts of the world. With this, people are seeking for employment from every corner of the world. It becomes difficult to adopt the same working conditions with the new type of employees. These new employees are used to different working conditions and this has necessitated changes in the working environment (Jetten, 2006).
New breeds of educated people who are seeking jobs have led to the changes in the characteristics of the working environment. This group of young people has their own culture that is different from the old people. The employees have to accommodate these young people in the working environment and in most of the cases, it is difficult to control them hence change their individuality (Sloane, 2010). The results are that the employers end up adjusting the working conditions to accommodate the culture of this young generation in the working environment.
The employees of the current generation have been seen to respect their values too much. If the employers do not respect the values observed by the employees, this may end up demoralizing these employees hence performance of duties becomes difficult. To accommodate this, the employers have accepted the fact that employees can observe their own values and at the same time work for their organization. The respect of the values of each individual in the working environment has led to the changes in the working environment. The major aim of allowing this is to motivate the employees (Sloane, 2010).
It can be concluded that in a dynamic environment where the population characteristic is changing now and them, the working environment is likely to change. The environment that organizations are working in is changing from time to time. These organizations have to respond to the environment changes and this behavior has affected the working conditions of the employees.
