Zen Master Seung Sahn is known for his famous teaching which carry impressive but complex meanings which might a while for a person to understand. Sahn emphases on the way people should put their entire mind on what they doing and avoid any sort of destruction. This implies that if a person is eating; let him or her eat whereas those that are reading their newspapers they should continue reading it. This implied that people should always pay attention to anything they do. For instance, when a person listens to music attentively, he or she can be able notice the rhythm, notes and melody which will make that person experience the flow of the entire music (Fishel 125).
The secret behind ensuring total concentration in whatever one does is that they are able to enjoy all the happiness derived from such incident. Sahn main idea is that a person should always pay outstanding attention to whatever he or she is doing since they will be able to derive extreme satisfaction. Moreover, a person will have less destruction and thus understand as well as digest whatever he or she is doing. For instance, when reading one is eating and reading a newspaper, he or she should put his or her pay attention and concentrate in the two activities. Through paying clear attention a person will be able to practice on how to avoid any sort of distraction. This would enable them achieve their need to feel as well as enjoy whatever they are doing. Eating and reading a newspaper usually enlighten a person but when distraction arises that person will not derive any kind of utility. Therefore, Sahn wanted to imply that when a person does something, let him or her do that and nothing less (Fishel 125).
