Maestro ERP is a construction company that provides services to Architects, Engineering Firms, Construction Management Firms, Property Owners, among other companies within the construction fraternity. Services provided by Maestro ERP are among them project management, accounting, and estimation solutions. The company deals with projects that are below a budget of $100 million. The company can be compared with other ERP companies in the market. It shall be compared with the company called PENTA constructions. Like Maestro, PENTA deals with the services of estimation, project management, and accounting and offers solutions to the same companies offered by Maestro. Like Maestro, PENTA deals with projects that are lower than $100 million in budget. PENTA uses a number of construction software in its services. The software it uses include: viewpoint, oracle, professional, Primavera P6, among other types of software (Namiri, 2007). In contrast, Maestro only uses one type of software to offer services. The software is Prolog. In terms of the size of the business, both companies offer services to both small-medium businesses and large enterprises. While the PENTA Company deals with construction and utility sector, Maestro deals with construction companies only. In terms of the platform used, the PENTA Company uses the On Premise platform while Maestro uses the online platform. The language supported by PENTA is English while Maestro supports both English and French. PENTA is only available in the United States while Maestro operates in both the United States and Canada (Namiri, 2007). Both companies use the social media to communicate to the world. The two of them have LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. In terms of service delivery, PENTA has been rated and reviewed high than Maestro. This is based on the rating that users have left in the companies’ websites.
The service selected from the Maestro website is the housekeeping. This department has a number of functions which it delivers to the construction companies. First, the service allows the department to assign staff to clean rooms and also ensure the tracking of their productivity. The service also ensures that the current housekeeping status of each room is maintained. It also ensures that the companies can view the housekeeping history for each particular room. The housekeeping service also updates the housekeeping status manually for individual or multiple rooms. The service also ensures that it confirms that front desk inventory of the occupied and available rooms. Finally, the housekeeping software lists housekeeping information for all the selected rooms, status discrepancies, housekeeping assignments, and the off-market rooms. The service can be used by estate managers, property managers, property owners, and the custom home builders. The above people/companies can use the service to monitor the operations of the rooms meant to be rented or leased. It also helps them to monitor whether the rooms are properly cleaned and whether they meet the conditions of the companies. Not only does the service ensure cleanliness of the premise, it also creates a housekeeping interface which paves way for the staff to use the telephone in the rooms to communicate and update the housekeeping status information on the Maestro website (Shim, 2005). The system has both fine and course data. The fine data comes in terms of the small details that are loaded into the housekeeping website. In addition, course data is fed into the system in terms of the complex programming languages fed into the system. The course data is that that affects a large chunk of the database such as hundred of records. The housekeeping service has such data.
