Introduction: Job satisfaction is a kind of positive feeling that individuals develop on doing a job and it motivates them to continue in the job. It is an attitude that is sought by many organizations in the employees, as it benefits both the employee and the organization. My personal motive for choosing MBA, is to find a job that satisfies me. My qualifications help me to contribute positively to the organization growth, rather than remain a hapless bystander in the day to day process. I personally consider a job where I can manage production, efficiency or safety, to provide the fulfillment that I expect from a job. The task of a plant manager, perfectly match my skills and interest. For many crazy reasons, I always wanted to be in managerial job. The aspect of doing something I wanted is a pleasure in itself. As a manager, I am in a position to control the work environment, because it is something that can influence my performance, as well as the performance of other staff in my team.
So the topic sentence is the job environment determines once job satisfaction. This is important because, in every job there are doubts and mind chatters that constantly cause confusions and dissatisfactions. An environment that holds the minds of the employees to the job, can quieten the mind chatter that leads to many unwanted problems. Though work is a serious affair, there is no wrong in making job hours the happy hours of the day. I look forward to work with such an organization and also contribute to such an atmosphere.
Happiness among employees is possible only when the job allows them to balance between life and work. I would want the job to give me a reasonable vacation time. I don’t believe in the concept of ‘more office time equals more productivity’. It is a person’s ability to contribute and complete the task in an efficient manner that will determine productivity. I prefer to work during work hours and take ‘me’ time during non-working hours.
I fear monotonous jobs and this is once again my reason for doing management course and applying for management jobs. Managerial jobs have variety and as a manager, I would be expected to work on different tasks. Likewise, a job that helps me to exercise my skills and also offers me an opportunity for growth will add to my happiness coefficient. The trust an organization has in me and the trust I have in the organization is fundamental to everything. Conflicts, bullying, ego wars and void fights, will drain productivity out the employee and can negatively affect my happiness level. So I prefer an environment that is free of bullying and ego wars.
I need a job that meets my energy and motivation level. Too much and too less is going to exhaust me. I am an optimistic and resilient person and can easily adjust to stress of a tough work. I like a friendly and supportive environment at work. A supportive environment will help to improve performance and will also help to reduce sick leaves. I consider that bad events that arise at job are temporary, and can be worked out. It is important for me that my supervisors recognize my work and my contribution. I like to be surrounded by optimistic people, rather than by people who try to pull the organization down. Working in once own selfish interest is extremely detrimental and I believe in team work. As a team member, I know what is expected of me, and I expect the same from other players in the team.
Conclusion: In general, a caring atmosphere and a supportive atmosphere are something that I look ahead in my job. This would give me the required job satisfaction. I also feel responsible for creating the same environment around me.
