Police Office received a 911 call from the Target store at 1313 Nile Blvd this morning. Three women threatened employees with handguns, when caught shoplifting. After a violente excape, the women drove off in a car.
Four policemen, who responded the call, got the record of the license plate number of the vehicle and found the address of the car owner – Lisa Belkin. They went to the address to clarify the circumstances and possibly find suspects.
There was a man in the house, who was identified as Kevin Coldberg. He let the police officers in. By the time some important information had been given, two women appeared and ordered the officers to leave.
Handguns were pulled out by the suspects, however, they were disarmed and arrested. Both Lisa Belkin and Kevin Coldberg suffered serious injuries in the course of resisting arrest. As the suspects did not answer the questions, they were arrested.
On the spot, officers found 60 articles of clothing with tads attached, approximately 5 kilos of methamphetamine, 3 kilos of cocaine and 40 kilos of marijuana. This drug confiscation was the largest in the city`s history.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Lisa Belkin, 26, Certrudis Cano, 30, Jenifer Wade, 28, Kevin Coldberg, 33. These people were charged with attempted homicide, assault, burglary, theft, resisting arrest, and felony drug possession with distribution.
After investigating, police has some reasons to believe that these suspects are members of a burglary ring operating in Smallville and are linked to Mexico`s Sinaloa DrugCartel, which is one of the world` most notorious an powerful narcotics trafficking organizations.
If this information is confirmed, it will be the first arrest of Smallville police involving sucg criminal enterprise. Upon being transferred to a different prison, suspects accused the police of several crimes with proof to be given in court.
Jennifer Wade claimed they were not guilty of the crimes, but the police officers were guilty of brutality, as they spent some hours hitting and waterboarding them in order to make them confess to crimes they did not commit.
