Businesses relying on renewable energy sources to power their ventures as well as foster environmental sustainability have attracted the attention of environmentalist and activists. PepsiCo is one such company investing in various sustainable practices where they use light energy to power their water stewardship for factory use and community assistance (Environmental Sustainability, 2014). It reduces the emissions of the greenhouse gasses by finding alternative energy sources like electricity. The company boosts agriculture sector as one of its main sources of raw material by creating community outreach programs that foster best farming practices. PepsiCo has also invested heavily in reducing waste materials by recycling bottles and cans used to package products (Environmental Sustainability, 2014). This approach saves money for the company while reducing environmental pollution. Finally, PepsiCo outsources its strategies by setting standards, supply requirements, accountability, engagement, assessment, and mitigation approaches.
In essence, companies paying attention to such hazards affecting the world as plastic and air pollutions are not only likely to attain organizational reputation and commendations from authorities, but also save money when the recycle waste products. The use of renewable resources allows the world to escape climatic issues like global warming and deforestations that exhaust the world’s carbon deposits. Businesses should not only take part in enhancing environmental protection for their smooth running, but also reduce their cost of production and enhance business sustainability. PepsiCo examined the factors affecting its cost of production and determined that such areas and agriculture needed intervention to warrant a continuous supply. It also used solar panels to trap light energy in order to recover the carbon emissions released from their factories and vehicles.
