The article explains the perspectives of different groups and individuals in Australia to the alienated children detained in a juvenile in in the United States. Some individuals in this nation, support the act of alienating the children from their parents and argue that they were being punished for the unbecoming behavior of their parentages. On the other hand, the proponents hold that the incarcerated children are not old enough to make decisions on their own about their estranged parent. Children while in the juvenile are separated for their parents and they no longer relish their intimacy. According to the storyline, the parents’ estrangement was primary caused by unrelenting disagreements among the two, which compelled the mother to distance their children from their father. This article is suitable for the study since it contains arguments of various individuals who argue for and against the problem of parental alienation. It is therefore, enabling the reader to comprehend the concept of alienation in both perspectives that are its justifications and detriments to the parties involved.
The article explains the theme of alienation and describes how various individuals and groups from different backgrounds take it. The story presented in the article revolves around two children facing alienation from their parents in the United States. The writer, on the hand, intends to show how Australians perceive this situation in the US. It was reported that the children were sent to the juvenile for having refused to associate with their estranged father. According to the news story in the news reported July 2015, the mother of the children was impelled to estrange the children from their father since they were not in good terms. The husband divorced his wife and after their separation, their children were reluctant to spend their time with him which made the judge in the court of law to order them into a juvenile (Korosi, 2015). Korosi, the author of the article, aims at gathering the viewpoints of Australians in this situation taking place in the US.
According to proponents, the detainment of the adolescents in the juveniles is unjustified since they are not mature enough to behave in their own interest. In other words, children tend to act according to the instructions of either of their parents (Fidler, Bala, & Saini, 2013). Conferring to the report, the children were being exposed to violence by their parents and since the mother could spend much of her time with them unlike her husband, she got the chance to incite them to reject their father. This is how disaffection between the father and his children developed leading to alienation. In some cases according Korosi, the children can form their own views on either parents and gradually alienate themselves from him or her without any external stimuli. Further, the author points out that persistent conflicts and acts of violence among the parents can develop negative attitudes among the children towards their parents hence alienation amongst the three parties. Children in this case, cannot be ordered to juvenile since their estrangement grounds are deemed realistic (Lorandos, Bernet, & Sauber, 2013). Apparently, while under the juvenile, the children are subjected to oppressions and victimization. They are deprived of their children rights which compels their father to request for their freedom (Korosi, 2015). Over the past few years, the problem of alienation in South America has been reported to have declined substantially. The human right activists in this region have collaborated with the government bodies to fight against the vice arguing that the act of alienating children from either of their parents regardless of their opinions is against the human right law requirements (William, 2010).
This assignment enables one to comprehend fully the concept of alienation, its major causes and impacts to the parties involved. It evidently proves that the primary cause of parental alienation from their children is continued conflict leading divorce. Children from the broken marriages are subjected to many problems by the seemingly uncaring society. For example, children in the news story are ordered to a juvenile where they are denied their human rights and a chance to associate with their parents.
