Venture capitalist prefer to invest in established and experienced firms, rather than in startups or towards new innovations. This is because, a product that is already developed and tested, is likely to give back immediate or sure returns, when compared to untested innovations and less experienced startups. Risk associated with investing in less experienced and incompletely tested products and business enterprise, can deter venture capitalist. For these reasons they emphasis on experience and completeness.

The common belief that one will get it right at the first attempt, can leave many entrepreneurs in a situation that they have not imagined. One of the common themes that bio-entrepreneurs will learn is about success in the market. With big corporate giants taking most of the bio-market, a potential bio-entrepreneur need to present a new innovative product or marketing strategy that they can bank on. Such new ventures are previously untested and thus its practical difficulties are sometimes difficult to predict.
3. The people in the video are CEO’s and entrepreneurs talking about selecting the right people in the team. The advice they provide is more or less similar to what I have heard on different occasions. My personal advice is to build a winning team, by recruiting members who know to do their job. In case there is a deficiency for such members, people who are willing to be trained on the job should be preferred. Enthusiasm, cooperative attitude and the willingness to contribute to the goal, are the traits that I will expect in the members of my team. As an investor, I would prefer to bet on an idea or product that is sure to win, rather on someone who will use my money to test his fate. I would want to reduce risk and ensure returns. I prefer to invest in honest, trustworthy and straightforward people.
