The document raises questions of willingness to undertake the various activities and what is the role of the department in all the proposed strategies to combat the menace of climate change.

The document tries fill the knowledge gap between conservative urban planners and the elite urban planners in development of new urbanism.
Document highlights the emergency of new method of urban design.
“the third way” method of design is propelled by the need to design environmental friendlily designs that can be integrate into the social and economic forces.

Chapter 6 opposition
I can attest from reading the document that big corporations don’t always win in major proceeding against public.
Corporations have gone to challenge the public about their big plans which at times have faced major opposition from the public.
Some of these corporations include the Disney world in the case of building a theme park in the city of Virginia.
The plan was opposed by some members of the society as an orchestrated move to benefit the rich and affluent of the society by misrepresenting facts and information.
Question. How often does public opinion influence decisions of major corporation?
The Development Process
I believe that in a place where there are good quality designs, a lot of benefits are acquired and can be seen from doing quality work.
Some of the ways in which quality designs adds value are that;
It establishes new markets, provides higher returns on investments, and creates economic regeneration and many other benefits.
Quality urban design may not include any additional costs. A question of greed may arise as some developers may take advantage of reduced costs.
Question. How do you determine quality design from the fictitious designs?
The Charter of the New Urbanism
I believe that there has been growing need of restoration of existing urban towns which have deteriorated and those great cities of the ancient days.
the congress for the new urbanism which represents a broad-based citizenry, are expressing the need to conserve the environment and the rearrangement of sprawling suburbs into communities of diverse districts and real neighborhood as this will restore back the urban towns.
Question. Are communities and cities planners really willing to restore the old urban towns?
