The health of U.S. racial and ethnic populations
In this article, the author David R. Williams presented different patterns of health differentials with the help racial and ethnic disparities within the United States. For that, he used racial statistics to describe the health condition of the United States. It also presents the immigrant status on the basis of their race and socioeconomic status (SES) and their impact on the patterns of the diseases. Therefore, the focus of this article is on the research of those social factors that lead to the change in the health status of a country like the US. Moreover, racial difference in health is discussed with the help of statistics and health risks are discovered over the life course in the US (Williams, 2005).
Biological Basis of Determinants of Health
The biological determinants of health are discussed by Walter M. Bortz in his article with the help of a conceptual framework. For that, the author of this article used root elements of health, and the environmental factors are also translated to describe the biology. Moreover, the use of gene and aging with the internal and external agency are also contributed to explaining the biological experience of the human. The highlighted root causes are health and diseases which are aligned with the economic reality (Bortz, 2005).

In this article on the basis of research and surveys, the most chronic diseases of this time are mentioned. The increasing percentages of chronic diseases are discussed with the help of different statistics. Moreover, it is also mentioned that the prevention strategies are required to deal with chronic diseases such as Heart stroke, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, and obesity. The burden of chronic diseases are considered as the national crisis, and it is the reason that after analyzing the preventable health risk factors strong action plans are designed at the community level to reverse the chronic disease trends. Therefore, the role of CDC investments is highlighted which encourages the action plans and programs to deal with the epidemic of chronic diseases (Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, 2009).
