Performance improvement monitoring and assessment can be effectively done using a questionnaire. In this paper, the author provides ten research questions that would be asked to a focus group composed primarily of students who want to improve their performance in a pharmacy program. There are different types of performance. In a study published in the Journal of Applied Measurement, the researchers used task and context-based questions in order to assess the individual work performance of students in their respective courses. The same model can be used in this paper because it essentially has the same contextual framework and possibly, goals and objectives as well. . Task-based performance pertains to an individual’s level of proficiency in performing the core substantive and technical tasks that are central to his or her job, which in this case would be pharmacy-related. Contextual performance, on the other hand, would be skills and performance-related qualities that are aimed at supporting the social, psychological, and organizational environment in which the technical and core tasks must function. These two types of performance are both needed for an individual enrolled in a certain program to achieve a desired outcome—i.e. they both pertain to overall performance. In order to assess them both, here are ten research questions that may be used to gather data from members of a focus group. The first five questions would be task-based and the remaining five ones would be context-based.
