Introduction
Honorable Members of the Platonian Jury, arts are of different categories. There are those which were invented for the sake of necessity. Some were created all for arts’ sake. Others had been made by artists and inventors whose primary aim was to uplift the spirit or to gain knowledge. Most importantly, there were those arts and inventions which not only increased the knowledge of the users but also made known the whole truth which made them free. It is in line with this that the subsequent arguments will prove to Your Honors of the Platonian Jury that the movie Rocky is worth saving because such film is the greatest quality sports movie ever on planet earth; aside from the fact that it qualified according to Plato’s artwork standards.
First Argument
Second Argument
Third Argument
Accordingly, in order that arts should have aesthetical value it should be useful to the States and to the whole humanity. Indeed, this is true, insofar as the movie Rocky is concerned. The fact that this film was moved for preservation in the National Film Registry, it only shows that it fittingly qualified to the Platonic standard of being useful to the States and to the human society. In one of the scenes of the movie, where the handler of Apollo Creed offered Rocky a chance to fight Creed, Rocky was asked, “Do you believe that America is the land of opportunities?” (Rocky). He answered in the affirmative.
Conclusion
It is most respectfully prayed, then, of the Honorable Members of the Platonian Jury that the movie Rocky is saved and be allowed to be brought along by the earthly people to their new home in the planet Plato. It is because saving the movie Rocky is saving all of the humanity.
