Introduction
Self-care is taking a strategic measure to ensure that one is safe and stays in focus. They are personal decisions that one takes for to improve their future. In this case, my self-care is to ensure that I remain in line with the nursing career requirements and set strategies to implement the key options that I have chosen. They include, time management, more attention to nursing school, and developing a nursing career path. The field of nursing is diverse (Lever, 2010, p. 105). It requires focus to be able to cope with the daily challenges. However, caution should be taken when pursuing nursing as a profession. Mistakes are never entertained. It may lead to provocation of one’s license. Nursing school requires disciple and compliance to the regulation in both class and at work. The paper will discuss the various measures that I will adopt to secure my future career in nursing, working less to focus in nursing school and highlight how I will cope with stressors in nursing. It will analyze the methods I will adopt to help implement the chosen strategies.
Areas chosen
I have taken precautions to develop nursing school and my future career. Based on my experience with the human traffickers, I understand the challenges that victims face. The areas that I choose for the implementation and improvement of my career include time management, regular exercise, and minimum working hours to focus in nursing school.
Regular exercise is good for the body development. It helps in achieving a fit and a healthy body (Traynor, 2009, p. 149). I will ensure that I exercise daily. The morning run often prepares me to be fresh and ready to start the day. Further, I will ensure I attend gym sessions and perform two to three skills of yoga daily. After a busy day at nursing school, I take evening run then take a shower. The resultant effect creates relaxation mode that ensures that I have sufficient sleep. Before sleeping, I countercheck schoolwork, peruse the day’s classwork activities, and check if there is an assignment to be completed. The bottom line is to ensure that I am occupied to avoid any time wastage or idleness.
Time management is achievable when I make sure that it is strictly adhered by setting time for every activity. I ensure that I establish priorities; I start with the necessary activities in the list and finish with the least important activities. I will put the school activities to be top of the list followed by other events that do not require maximum attention. My self-care plan further, adopts diverse ideologies in time management. The essence of creating a better environment will ensure that I work diligently on the class projects without interference.
Relevance to nursing
The self-care measure is relevant in nursing. For example, consult exercising results into healthy living. As discussed, it helps in sustaining the proper functioning of the body. In this way, one can execute his or her duties properly. My passion in nursing relates to the choices I made. Time is of the essence in nursing. When implementing nursing practices like caregiving time is observed strictly. Developing the habit of managing time is in line with nursing practice. The ability to handle the accruing nursing stressors affirms my desire to overcome any challenges that I may incur during my practicums or research.
The exercises conducted help in growth, wellness, physical fitness, and development. The body immune system is improved. I will be safe from any potential lifestyle diseases, for example, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and type 2-diabetes (Libal, 2006). Exercise is good for me. It relieves one from any stress or depression. Ideally, one feels free and fresh. This has ensured that I complete my work without being lazy or running out of time.
Time management is paramount in achieving any set goals. My goals are to complete my nursing career fully successfully and secure a prosperous future. The passion developed in nursing is the love I have in caring about humanity. Time management requires self-disciple; the core objective is to have an ideal self-care plan (Waterworth, 2003, p. 433).
Implementation of self-care measures
Time management will ensure that no assignment is delayed. To make sure that I implement time management strategy I put in place a good plan. Moreover, conscious control of time spent on each activity input in my “to do list”. The need to protect "prime time" is paramount. In this way, I will protect my time by implementing isolation, insulation and delegation techniques.
List of SMART goals

Conclusion/summary
In summary, self-care is ideal in confining one’s mind to focus on specific goals. Notably, nursing practice diversity requires proper planning, time management, and individual consciousness. Further, to counter with challenges in the field SMART goals should be designed and be followed. Further, conducting extensive research will ensure that one self-care is effective. Essentially, self-care is an individual concept; therefore, it is autonomous.
