- The cancer to be researched it eye cancer which is a malignancy that starts in the eye and is divided into two groups, intraocular and orbital cancer.
- The question for the research include;
- Who are the susceptible groups to eye cancer infection in the population?
- What is the incidence of eye cancer in the past decade?
- Which type of eye cancer is most prevalent among those diagnosed with eye cancer?
- Does eye cancer show any pattern of distribution (geographical or racial) or is it randomly distributed among the world’s population?
- What are the cure rates of eye cancer for those diagnosed early and for those diagnosed late?
- Does eye cancer show gender or age prevalence in the population?
- What is the causative agent or the predisposing factors of eye cancer?
- What are the recent technological advancements in eye cancer research and treatment?
- Is genetics and eye color related to the type of eye cancer one gets?
- Key words in the research
- Metastasis- it is important in understanding the stage of the eye cancer. If it has metastasized then it is said to be malignant but if it has not metastasized then it is said to be benign.
- Primary intraocular cancer and secondary intraocular cancer- they are important in understanding the origin of the cancer. If the cancer is primary then it has originated in the eye but if it is secondary then it means it has originated from another part of the body and metastasized to the eye.
- Malignancy- it is important in showing whether the cancer is aggressive or if it is dormant.
- Risk- is important in showing how likely one is to get eye cancer is a given population at a given time
- Risk factors- important in showing the conditions or factors that make one more likely to get the eye cancer compared to someone who does not have such factors or conditions either in the body or around them.
