Reflection on the Vagina monologues
Vagina Monologues explores the plight of women in the society. The book makes one re-think of concern for the women over challenges and parameters faced in their lives. In the society, women assume feminine roles that make them vulnerable destructive experiences. The monologues portray some of the feminine experiences as destructive, yet some of them appear enjoyable to them. The story made me visualize about the theory or rape. It came as a surprise to me after reading the monologues that some women had little value for their dignity and engaged in prostitution in the name of making the vagina happy.
The vagina monologues motivate me into evaluating women and the challenges they go through from a new perspective. Most people want to paint a picture of women using their bodies as tools for the benefit in rotten societies; however, my mind is inclined to a new brilliant mentality that women have a special role in the community. I have also learnt the need of considering women as strong people considering the challenges they face. Feminism presents women to mixed lifestyles. Aspects that affect the emotions of women like love, menstruation, rape, birth, and orgasms present different levels of experiences to the women, some that are nasty. However, I learnt that throughout the piece, the vagina recurrently surfaces as a tool for the women empowerment. It presents the ultimate embodiment of female individuality. My mind now inclines to a new look and perception to the feminine feelings, having known that they originate from the fact that the women cannot do without them and that women have a strong individuality and anatomy.
