I talked to an employee who works in the ministry of foreign affairs in the government, and he believes that the workers who work for the government are usually unfairly compensated. They have to work for long hours and at times are even overworked when there is excess work, and they only get the fixed salary. Also, in case one gets sick, they do not get days offs and get paid; instead, one has to work to compensate for the gone days. The leaves they get are not paid and thus experience some problems since they do not get enough income. Despite the government being the leading body in the nation and championing the human rights, they do not practice them so well. They should lead by example through paying their workers fairly; compensating them for excess work done and giving them paid leave days.
Cyrus Dugger reasons out that the compensation funds are used to as a remedy against a worker. The workers are not allowed to sue their employers, and they are given the compensation for that reason. The compensation program has faced different problems since it was initiated. There are those who are in charge of the program and make sure that despite the compensation, the insurance rates are low thus disadvantaging the workers (Dugger).
Since the employees work hard to ensure they deliver according to their job requirements, they should be compensated depending on the work they do. In cases of sicknesses and injuries, the company should take that into account and take care of the needs of the patient without more conflicts. The government should be in charge of ensuring that the employees are compensated in the right way.
