Fairy Tale Creative Writing Sample

Once upon a time, a beautiful princess lived in large castle. Each day, she would take a walk outside to the woods. As she walked, she would sing to the birds and the animals. In the middle of the woods was an old well. The well was covered in stones and in the middle of a large green pasture. When the princess reached the well, she would make a wish. She wished that one day, she would meet her prince charming. For 5 years, the princess made this same wish by the well. But to her dismay, her prince never came.
As the princess grew older, she became more and more sad. She did not think she would ever meet her prince. But even though the princess felt discouraged, she still went to the well and made the same wish every day. The princess was so beautiful and so kind. The animals and creatures of the woods adored her. The princess would often talk to the animals, and the animals would listen as if they understood just what the princess was saying.
A few days after the princess’ 21st birthday, the animals saw the princess quietly weeping by the wishing well. The animals were disheartened to see the princess in such distress. They wished with all their hearts that they could find the princess her prince. Then, one day, the animals spotted a handsome prince lost in the woods. They led him to the wishing well where the princess was. The princess looked into the handsome eyes. The prince told the princess she was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. She then asked him who he was. So he told her he was the prince and they lived happily ever after.
