In human perspective, a family is a group of individuals associated by affinity, consanguinity or co-residence. In most communities it is the key organization for the children’s socialization. Anthropologists most usually classify family organization as matrilocal (a mum and her kids); conjugal (a couple and children; also known as the nuclear family); and consanguine (also known as an extended family) in which a father, mother and the children co-reside with either the members of the father’s family or mother’s family. In this study am going to talk about strategies utilized to juggle career and family and how most families distribute household chores in a biblical view.
Here is one fact to give a food of thought as you try to evaluate your juggling act. For one, you need to prioritize: before you attempt to come about with solutions, it is vital that you spend some time considering on all that you are doing. In the middle of not even having sufficient time to sit down for a cup of tea, creating time to consider can be demanding in and of itself. In order to work out which things you actually must do now, which things can stay and which things you can let go of all in all, you need to look cautiously at all of the things you are presently doing and find out which are the most essential. It would be helpful to have all of these discussions with your spouse.
Even though the present world is considerable dissimilar from the biblical world, the bible still talks to our call for work/life balance. An important chapter for me is Colossians 3:23-24:
"Anything you do, engage in it with all your heart, as working for God, not for human masters, given that you know that you will be given an inheritance from God as a reward. It is God you are serving." Consequently, all our actions are done on behalf of Christ.
A similar verse just one or two verses earlier, in verse 17, states: "everything you undertake, either in action or speech, finish it all in the name of Jesus Christ, giving gratitude to the lord almighty through Christ.” Nevertheless, in spite of what endeavors we might do, at work or business, it is to be carried out in the name of the Lord Christ, with honesty and logic of Christian service.
The verses squashed in between those two verses are all concerning healthy family relationships. Husbands and wives are to be in adoring relationship to one another. Fathers are not to exasperate or embitter their children. In a nutshell, good work conditions and healthy family relationships co-relate. This would have made ideal sense in biblical times when your colleague workers were probably also part of your family. Even in modern times, unhappy family circumstances can prevent you from doing good work, and probes at work can cause conflict at home.
In conclusion, parents can combine task like maybe taking the baby out on a walk after work. A couple can as well share the work load: It is important to look carefully at the division of labor in your family and enjoy quality time together. That is why families come up with schedules and time tables that stipulate who should be doing what and when.
