One of the aspects of the human body that women always place attention is their hair. There are different preferences: some prefer long hair while other prefer short hair. This study assesses the length of hair that female students at the campus have. It was be divided into two categories: long hair and short hair. The setting for data collection was outside the main cafeteria. Students come to the cafeteria to hang out. Therefore, they are not in a hurry which allowed for observation.
The data observation study revealed that 38 percent of female students have short hair while 62 percent have long hair. The mode is the category that occurs the most. In other words, the one with the highest frequency. The mode for the data was long hair. The mode is strong because it is almost twice that of the other category (long) hair. The variability between the two groups is 26.
The data conforms to expectations. In campus, there are mostly young people. Most young people prefer long hair because it is considered beautiful. Most of their role models who are media sensations have long hair. Therefore, they would like to emulate them. On the contrary, older people would prefer short hair because it is easier to groom. From my observations, most people had long hair as shown by the mode. The mode is relatively strong.
Conclusion
We can conclude that most females in campus spot long hair. This study speculates that it is because it looks beautiful. It appears to be the trend among young people. It would be interesting to find the reasons why it is popular through another study.
