Nowadays, technologies are considered an integral part of our lives, having numerous functions in the society. As the life doesn’t stay on the same play, so do the products, services and apps. Therefore new developments and innovations are more than desired – they are very much required. Among the tools which still have great potential to improve and develop additional issues is GPS.
New GPS App Function
A great innovation for GPS would be to align it with medical emergency services and needs. The key purpose of the app would be to view and track the location of medical donors. The app would allow people to register voluntarily as blood, bone-marrow or any organ donors, thus enabling medical institutions like hospitals or clinics to get in touch with them in case of extreme need. The app will also provide the possibility for doctors not only to view donor's location, but also to access his or her data (such information as the donor's blood type, medical history, etc.). The hospitals could likewise call for a certain type donor with a help of the app, requesting for an urgent help.
App's Main Features
So long as the list of app's capacities is not extensive yet, more features will be added to it on the further stages of its development. Still, the main features will include smart destination search, easy accessibility to the contacts of donors, doctors, or clients in case of emergency, the opportunity to route and reroute in the fast and smart way, a possibility of a voice command (which could make urgent communication much more efficient) and a certain level of automation (integration of user's personal data and settings with the app itself). This list of features is based on the growing needs of the users and their useful suggestions: “over time, we began to expect so much more” (Goodwin, 2013).
Thereby this app could take medical services to a completely new level. It will help to solve blood and organ shortage problem faced by many hospitals more efficiently and in much short time. The app is very impactful and life-affirming in its very concept as it emphasizes on the human's greatest value – health. It also promotes proactive attitude towards mutual help and support in the society. It could not only give a chance to live to some people, but also the opportunity to help to others. Just imagine the impact which this app can possibly make: the number of children which would be saved because a type of blood or organ needed was found at the right time, the amount of victims of accidents or natural disasters who would be able to keep on achieving their heights, following their dreams, living long and prosperous life! How many lives would be going on thanks to the one app, easy and simple in its use! We surely need the developments like today so that to ensure our better future tomorrow.
