Fists of Fury is also popularly known as the Chinese Connection in United States. It is an action movie that depicts the famous Chinese culture of martial arts. The plot of the movie revolves around the revenge of Chen Zhen. The entore movie portrays his struggle of finding the suspects of murder of his master and then killing them. In general, the movie has a political and nationalistic perception. It demonstrates the tension that existed among violent Sino-Japanese at that time .
Likewise, Yellow Earth is one of the highly famous Chinese dramatization movie. The movie was directorial introduction for the Chen Kaige . Although, the movie is different from Fists of Fury in terms of its theme, it also has a strong political influence. The movie is not about clashes and differences between the two tribes. In fact, it is an indirect criticism on the Communism Party. In this movie, a solider was sent to live with peasants at country side to look for good folk songs. However, his findings appear to be entirely different from his expections. He only finds depressing songs of hardships and suffering. The movie, hence, depicts that the peasants work so hard on their lands but the actual power does not reside in their hands. They have no control over their land productions, over the decisions related to it. They have to suffer a lot.
Additionally, Blind Shaft is a movie about a couple of fierce cheats working in illicit coal mines of northern China. The movie was composed and also coordinated by Li Yang, and is took into account Chinese author Liu Qingbang's short novel Shen Mu . This movie has slighlt different concept from the other two mentioned movies. Blind Shaft describes the ill-treatment of the migrant workers in China. It portrays the fact most of the workers in coal mines were migrants. They were forced to perform dangerous tasks in harsh environments. The movie continues to portray the struggle of the hero ti eliminate this concept of harsh treatment of migrant workers.
Three of the movies under discussion carries wide aspect of similarities as well as diffrences. As it can be seen in Yello Earth that the solider who travels to collect the old songs confronts the Chinese traditions and the hardships. Similarly, in the movie blind shaft many problems related to the poor people living in China is discussed and this was the main reason the movie was banned for some time. The three movies mainly focused on the Chinese culture and are a true reflection of it.
Secondly, all three movies potryas the Chinese cultures and traditions in their play screen. They show how to be strong when it comes to fight for the right thing and how to be determined on the task given. They also highlights the issues and the problems which are being witnessed in China by the middle class and the poor people. The movies describe these problems comprehensively to make sure the audience can imagine the life style of Chinese people at that time.
The differences which can be witnessed in the movies are their different story lines and the different screen plays. Though the three movies are directed towards the elimination of the wrong but all have different story lines and are highlighting different issues of the country. The movies are mainly action and shows not to give up hope when the right is at stake. Despite the fact that all three movies use different characters, concepts and story lines, each of them have a political aspect. They are a true representation of the Chinese martial arts and Chinese traditions.
