Importance of Physical Fitness
Physical fitness is the aptitude in which the body can handle day-to-day responsibilities at varying difficulty tempos and levels. Noted historians have suggested emergence of several diseases that have occurred in 19th and 20th century, which were absent before. In their perspective point of view, they feel that long time ago people involved in manual day activities that placed their bodies in fitness conditions. However, with invention of automated machines to replace daily activities of man, this subject has not been placed to practice hence body systems have become weak and susceptible to certain diseases. Substantial scientific evidence has proved that body physical fitness is important to every individual and should be observed to promote lifetime healthy living conditions.
Regular physical activities act as defense mechanisms to prevent diseases. The department of health and human services in United States documented that regular exercise reduces the rate of chronic diseases by 14 %. In the same document, United Kingdom tabled that diabetes type 2 is 90% in adults as opposed to two percent in youths. The research showed that this large difference was because manual and regular physical activities were done by youths.
Fitness promotes and enhances lifetime wellness. The sense of well-being and quality of life has been considered as the wellness of a person. Brandes (2012) says, people who are regularly active are less likely to be depressed and anxious than inactive people are. Britain medical head officer supported the U.S surgeon General in their research, which revealed that lively people are less to miss work session and are more productive than less active individuals. “Responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity setting and valuing physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction’’.
Quality physical fitness helps to fight obesity. Referred to as obesity endemic in United States, prevalence of this disease has put significant numbers to live in trepidation. “The goal treatment of obesity is weight loss. Exercise is an essential part of any weight loss program and should become permanent part of everybody’s lifestyle”. By regular exercise, a lot of calories will be burnt hence reduction of fat level in the body. “The problems of overweight and obesity among youths extend beyond the clinical and cosmetic. Overweight children are more likely to experience psychosocial and psychiatric problems than non-obese children”.
Physical activities boost sex and energy. Regular physical work leaves people with an energized feeling that that brings the urge for sex. A research done in department of health and human services in United States reveals that regular involvement in physical actions lead to enhanced arousal in both men and women. In the research, 90% of men who engage in physical activities do no experience erection dysfunction as compared to men who do not.
According to the above discussion, there is an important need to do regular bodily activities. Active participation in physical activities acts as a defense mechanism for the body, it enhances lifetime wellness, helps to reduce obesity, and boost sex drive in both men and women. Lifetime promotion and good health remain a dream of every person and can be realized through regular physical fitness.
