A forensic assessment report is needed for Ms. G Case 1; who seems to be acting in a manner of mental illness. The women was charged with burglary and is in her mid-forties. The police found her and her neighbors items in her possession. When the police found her she was intoxicated and was in possession of illegal drugs. When the police arrested her she was not cooperating, and being violent. The officers had to restrain her and protect everyone involved because of violent demeanor. The police had reported that she was not acting normal, and had been acting in irate, and unrationed mental concept. She was also violent, and acting in a hyper state when interacting with the police.
Ms. G. would not talk to the officers, and believed they were trying to hurt her and kill her with poison. Her delusional actions also interacted with her speedy energy she was demonstrating. She had offered information that the police would be in trouble for arresting her. She had knew the mayor and would have the police arrested because they charged her with a crime. After the woman was arrested she had refused to have an attorney represent her. She asked to talk with the Judge ahead of time before her preliminary hearing.
Once incarcerated, Ms. G. had started a trend in jail, and convinced the inmates to follow her in a Hunger Strike. Ms. G became more delusional as she stayed in the cell. She would accuse the police of putting evidence in her possession, and framing her for crimes. She had thought the officers were going to murder her brother.
The police had attempted to contact her sibling to get information about her. She would tell them anything about herself, and they wanted to know if she had any mental health issues, and what type of person she is. This would give the officers more insight on who they were dealing with, and if she needed any special care or medication. Her brother did give the officer some helpful information about his sisters’ mental state, and mindset.
Ms. G’s brother had told officers that she had lost both of her parental guardians when she was young. They were both put in foster care system, and was separated. They are not very close, and do not associate with each other very often. His sister did not stay in one place very long, and traveled around to different places. This made it hard for him to keep in touch with her. She did work some handy jobs that were not long term oriented. She would move from one boyfriend to the next for a roof over her head, and she sold drugs to make extra cash.
Her brother had not known of his sister being evaluated for mental health issues. She refused to communicate about her past, and about what she was being held and charged for. The brother did shine some light on the issues and history she has gone through. This could give insight to her mental state and grounds for her to be “evaluated and assessed by a forensic psychologist” .
She will need an evaluation and assessment regarding court, and the charges she has been apprehended for. Her mental state seems to be non-stable, delusionary thoughts, violent tendencies, and not comprehending reality. She is waiving her rights for court, and needs to be found competent to withstand a jury trial, and is she is not then she can be properly diagnosed and treated.
“The referral is based on her competency, drug use, and mental state” . She is not interacting and communicating like someone who understands what is going on around her. She was found with drugs when arrested, shows violent reaction, and delusional thoughts. The forensic report will determine if she is capable and competent to stand trial. The report will give insight if she has a drug and alcohol dependency, and if she has mental illness. My expertise as a forensic professional feel the best report for Ms. G. would be a mental health evaluation. The report will answer if there is substance abuse issue, mental issues, and competency issues. This will help the court decide what is best for her well-being. The Judge can decide if she is able to be present and understand a jury trial for the charges brought forth. My relationship to the court system is to perform a forensic assessment report for Ms. G, and to make sure she receives the best assessment for her needs.
