Isadore Sharp, a Canadian entrepreneur, the founder of Four Seasons Resorts & Hotels was born in 1931. He graduated with diploma in Architecture in 1952 and in 1961 started with the first hotel in Toronto. Rosalie Wise was the lucky women to be his wife. They were blessed with four sons but in 1978, they lost one of them due to cancer. The death of their beloved son had great emotional effects on their hearts subsequent to which they became famous Canadian humanitarians and made noteworthy donations to fight cancer. Isadore has received admirations from people and won many awards till date. He recapitulated his life experience of business viewpoints in a book named as “Four Seasons: The Story of a Business Philosophy” (Isadore, 60-84). This book reflects his remarkable business strategies that have made him the iconic figure in the industry of hospitality.
The Management has been successfully running average sized chain of 5 star luxurious hotels and providing an exceptional set of services to its customers by only managing, instead of owning, which has taken their services to a unique level. The management’s philosophy sets it apart from other hotels as they don’t categorize their customers on the basis of status. The hotel gives standardized services and protocol to every single customer who walks in. The group of hotels has been actively participating in numerous humanitarian campaigns to bring sustainability, helping various communities and Advanced Research work in the field of Cancer. In 1981Four Seasons founded the Terry Fox Run which is a welfare organization which raises funds for Cancer research by organizing unique programs around the globe. The hotel has raised about half a billion dollars through Terry Fox.
