1- "How to become a benefit corporation"
The effect of B corps may be minimal in its effect of reshaping American companies. Although the companies enjoy certain advantages from having this set-up, it can analyzed in relation to several companies producing larger revenues that were not considering this option. The main point of the author suggests that the efforts of converting business into B Corporation have been minimal that I personally have to agree with.
3- "What is GRI?"
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) aims to promote sustainable reporting in every organization by setting standards and while maintain sustainable development. In a related aspect, there are companies that comply with GRI due to the wide networking possibilities offered by the organization. Personally, this test enables companies to receive proper training and certifications that could help attract business ventures of the involved companies.
4- "7 best alternatives to corporate power"
Corporate ownership is not the only model for a successful business and can include employee ownership, cooperative or community involvement. There have been success stories of business models that are not patterned with corporate ownership, which empowers the community and the employees with their business directions. I have to agree with the point of the author that we should try putting up businesses that are managed differently from corporate business mindset.
5- "Turning occupation into lasting change"
Community can be protected against corporate interest through occupation by rewriting rules and regulation different from the objectives of institutionalized organizations. There have been several instances of occupation, which includes the objectives of minimizing the impact of corporate objectives against community rights such as the Pittsburgh’s city council. I also supported the author’s belief in rallying behind this cause and empowering these groups to seek accountability and revision on guiding rules.
