Introduction:
Dystonia is a neurological condition characterised by involuntary and sustained muscle spasms which can force affected parts of the body into abnormal movements or postures. (Albanese, 2011) Distoniya is a very complex condition and here timely treating is important. Distoniya covers a list of disoders. An adult-onset dystonia (AOD)represents around 90% of all primary dystonias. This makes researches in this field so valuable.
AOD is also Adult-onset isolated focal dystonia (AOIFD) presenting in early adult life is more frequent in men, whereas in middle age it is female predominant. (AOIFD) is The researches have alreadypresenting in early adult life is more frequent in men, whereas in middle age it is female predominant. data set is analyzed in this dissertation to assess their response to synchronous and asynchronous of the light flash task. It has been suggest that (AOIFD) are very worse of this task or not. We have healthy data to look what the normal participant are. This type of research demands good models to be used because these models can make production, understand the normal and unhealthy participants and compare normal data with people of disease. The suitable analytical models for this data are logistic for individual and linear for groups regression models. This research does not include all the variables of the (AOIFD) data, but focus only on the ability to distinguish synchronous and asynchronous lights. In practice, the measure responses of AOIFE disorder are implemented by studying the abnormal temporal discrimination threshold TDT in order to enhance studying of genetic. Abnormal TDTs are found in 97% of cervical dystonia patients (specificity: 98 – 100%) and somewhat less frequently in other AOIFD phenotypes. Abnormal TDTs show autosomal dominant transmission in families of sporadic and familial cervical dystonia patients (Wiley and Sons,.). In this work, the tack TDT in AOIFD disorder is measure to estimate synchronous light from asynchronous ones. Both the linear for groups and logistic foe individual are used on data of participant to fit the data and study the influence of age and TDT. To do this 0 corresponded to a participant responding ‘same’ (synchronous), while 1 corresponded to the participant responding ‘different’ (asynchronous) (Butler et al, 2015).
The remainder of this chapter is ordered as following. The problem of disease dystonia is discussed in section 1.2. In section 1.3 the study questions are outlined. The next section, section 1.4 supplies a short review to the study methodology. The 1.5 section submits a short review related (AOIFD) data and the logistic and linear regression models. A data characterization for which logistic and linear regression analysis is suit closes this chapter.
Problem Definition:
The goal of the thesis is to use binary logistic regression modelling for individual to assess participant’s response by using asynchronous and asynchronous flashing lights for control 196 participants by linear regression for two groups. If the ability with task to worst age then they sick and they don’t do the task TDT well. Dystonia is a movement disorder disease, which is described by uncontrollable muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive motion or abnormal situation. Dystonia of affects an estimated 3,000 people in Ireland. This disease impacts anyone at any age. It can impact any aspect of the body including the legs and arms, neck, face etc. This research is determined to think through the following problems:
Apply logistic regression models to assess the variation of the participant response to synchronous and asynchronous flash light task.
Characterize the relevance among the response variable of linear (β0,β1) and the predictor variable (age) which impacts the responses response towards the dystonia disease.
Research Question:
The target of this thesis is to address the following research questions:
Data applied logistic and linear to further characterize the relationship of age and TDT.
Research Methodology:
In this research, both the linear and logistic regression method are applied to study healthy control data which is acquired from participant based on conducting a test to examine their response among synchronous and asynchronous light. We will use healthy control data is collected from adults by Engineers in Trinity College Dublin and Neurologists St. Vincent’s University Hospital. If they and their families don’t have history of any neurological disorder, basically dystonia or any cognitive injury, then can influence on their ability to participant in the test. Furthermore, they don’t have conditions results from visual acuity loss, then can influence on their ability to distinguish visual stimulus. The task TDT values have been measure in dark room. Specific light is used in the test which is Stimulating Light Emitting LEDs are placed on table in room in front of every participant by visual task (flashing LED light). The LEDs were positioned 7° into the subject’s peripheral field on the side being tested. IEDs were illuminated for 5 ms each presentation (Bradly et al, 2012). The TDT test is repeated four times on each side of the body for each participant, the value of TDT is acquired of the mean of these results.
The objective was to discuss the behavior which is from participant response toward the synchronous and asynchronous of flash light. We have to use the “best” model which are linear and logistic regression based on examine for explaining whether the participant response same or different. Consideration will be given to status where response variables are binary. The data from participant response to synchronous and asynchronous lights is used in this research. Participant response of light flash task will be used and making the synchronous and asynchronous response which is 0 (if they say same) and 1 (if they say different) of flash light. This task has been used some paper of Butler et al (2015) which showed different method and less participant(78), it is discussed the fit of data by cumulative Gaussian method and didn’t do linear groups previous research, but my project is applied logistic for individual and linear regression because it has more participants (196). Based on the predictor variable. When the response variable is a binary variable which has only two responses, “same” and “different” we will use binary logistic regression. Hundred individual logistic regressions will be applied in this study, but only two group linear regression will be discussed.
Conclusion:
Substantially, the linear and logistic regression model will be specified for response variable coefficients (β0,β1) and predict variable (age). Furthermore, showing how the model is fitted the data of participant, which is used to make production and compare between the normal data with participants of disease. TDT is applied to measure AOIFD data in circumstance of this room because it has yielded results extremely interesting and important results
