Innovative/ Entrepreneur Change Paper
The process for creative problem solving in case of Nike can be:
Classification of the Problem
Setting of objectives and criteria
Generation of innovative and creative alternatives
Analyzing alternatives and selecting feasible options
Planning and implementing decision
Controlling the decisions
In order to solve the problem, it is necessary to identify the problem that is not allowing the company to achieve its target, after identification, objectives should be set so that formulation of creative challenge can be ensured (Runco, 1994). After that creative alternative should be generated, this can be ensured by ensuring generation of new ideas (Auster, Wylie & Valente, 2005). Proper planning should be ensured for successfully installing new solution carefully.
Description of Implementation and Evaluation of Alternatives
Description of implementation in case of Nike can be considering the big picture, stretching perceptions and imaginations, focusing on possibilities and ideas, thinking globally as well as in abstract terms, analyzing potential problems, comparing different and competitive solutions, thinking about and planning steps for ensuring implementation of ideas. Furthermore, for ensuring proper implementation ‘Just do it’ approach is effective for Nike. Evaluation of alternatives in case of Nike can be ensured by putting together those solutions that work for solving the problem, by examining the pros and cons of ideas, by comparing different solution, thinking about effective implementation of ideas, and by using information in an appropriate manner. Moreover, Nike can ensure creativity by providing time to employees so that they can think. The company can also ensure creativity with the help of software that can be used for aggregating and organizing ideas, encouraging risk taking, diversity of thinking, and ensuring alignment with a higher objective and mission (Clegg, 2009).
