Breast cancer is inevitable and it is the most common cancer next to skin cancer. According to statistics, 1 out of 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will have an approximate 240,000 new cases of diagnosis related to breast cancer in the United States .
Risk Factors of Breast Cancer
No study have proven the direct cause of having a breast cancer, however, there are numerous risk factor identified related to the disease. Among the risk factors of breast cancer include age, gender and heredity. As women age, the risk of having breast cancer increases. Also, being a woman already puts every woman into the risk of having the disease. Moreover, according to studies, 5%-10% of breast cancer points to heredity and results of gene mutations . Separately, investigation and study says that the cause of this disease is because of alcohol, lack of exercise and bad lifestyle.
Breast Examination
Every woman should know her breasts and there are several ways on how to conduct self preliminary examination to identify the changes in one’s breast. Women can start examining their breast at the age of 20 and resume practicing this throughout their lives. On a normal basis, women should check their breast while it is not swollen or tender, that is, few days before her menstruation period begins. In case a woman no longer menstruates, she can pick a day in a month and regularly perform breast self-examination on this day every month. It is also essential to conduct this when a woman is taking hormonal medication. There are few recommended steps in performing breast examination. These are visual examination, tactile examination and clinical examination of the breast .
On the other hand, women can visit a health care professional to conduct the clinical breast examination to conduct inspection of the breast and palpation. One of the popular clinical procedures for monitoring breast cancer is mammography. This has been one of the best screening tool for breast cancer today and find cancers when they are still small, therefore, probability of survival is high. Although a screening of a woman’s breast cannot prevent one from getting, this procedure can definitely assist them in finding out breast cancer early, while it is easier to treat.

Upon getting facts and significant statistics and information about the disease, get the authorization of patients and every person and organization involve and user the social media such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to commence awareness of what the risk and impact of breast cancer to a patient, his or her family and the society. These social media network have proven to become one of the effective tools in disseminating information, starting with your friends and family. In parallel, one can visit their community clinics and internal organization to conduct small talks and campaign within the village to inform everyone of the enormous impact of the disease, at the same time, encourage them to become part of the campaign. Surprisingly, it only takes this kind of campaign to get volunteers, especially women and children, to become part of this consciousness about the cancer. This collaborate may potentially be an avenue to partner with medium-sized charity campaign, television and other media to continue publishing the breast cancer challenge that our women may face.
Include a procedure to update the information on a regular basis.
Once the program and the women’s group responsible for managing the awareness campaign for breast cancer have been established, dedicated and committed members must agree to take charge of keeping the data and information updated. A designated member must take charge of maintaining the group’s website about breast cancer campaign. Also, a dedicated member must become responsible in gathering latest information with regard to the disease through relevant organizations such as United Nations and World Health Organization. Furthermore, a membership with an internationally renowned breast cancer awareness group is a plus for your own group in order to acquire updated information, campaigns, movements, possible treatments and any type of data that will help individuals understand the current trends in terms of the disease. If possible, there must be a member responsible for marketing and establishing external relationship with different organizations who are willing to assist such kind of organization that promotes health awareness specifically breast cancer awareness campaign. The group must agree to meet regularly every month to continuously update everyone on the status of every activity of the organization.
