Question 1:
Before the meeting with Tom, Mary was nervous and anxious of about what the job review entails. She expected the job review to be challenging because she never attended to any of the job reviews. After meeting with Tom, Mary was overwhelmed with happiness due to the positive response and rewards she got from the job reviewed. Mary was highly appreciated and rewarded by Tom due to her exemplary and outstanding performance in the job. The Abraham Maslow hierarchy of Needs fits this case because both the low level needs and higher level needs are shown in this case. The social needs, security, and safety needs are shown by the fact that a safe working environment as well as interaction with the team members, enabled Mary to achieve higher results from her job activities. The higher level needs are also shown by the job promotions and high salary enabling Mary to meet high self-actualization and high level of self-esteem.
Question 2:
In relation to discovery of the document, I will propose that the Mary should be penalized for cheating Sue that her starting salary was $45000 because it may lead to tension among employees making them feel segregated in the work place. The actions of Mary are, therefore, malicious to the welfare of other employees since it may lower the morale of other employees. Mary should face the law for giving false information to other employees if this situation leads to tension among other workers.
Question 3:
In the work place was faced with a crisis where the team members felt that their efforts were not fully compensated by the rewards they got from that work. The consultative arrangements with the whole team as a team leader through the help of the human resource management to motivate the workers in the form of working overtime with higher bonus payments(Bateman,2013 p.16). The working conditions were also improved by the provision of soft music and refreshments in order to motivate the team workers to boost their morale.
Question 4:
In relation to the intrinsic rewards, I felt the sense of choice of the job activities and tasks. I also received high levels of competence through thorough training enabling me to perform complex tasks and activities (Bissell, 2012 p.28). The job place also enabled me to progress from one level of skill and experience to another. On the other hand, the extrinsic rewards at the job place enabled me to receive high levels of payment thereby providing me with the financial security to meet my daily activities and operations. The extrinsic rewards also enabled me to develop my personal life apart from the experience I received from extra work at the job place.
