I firmly believe in leading by example; most of us blame the system for structural and economic problems. According to me, to change the system one needs to be part of it; blaming will not solve the issues. I hold a Masters of Arts Degree in Counselling and have observed this sector very closely. Many times I have felt that a particular policy would have benefited the public at large as I saw it by working at the grass root level. My past academic endeavor and professional experiences motivated me to take up Public Administration and pursue a formal degree course. After a comprehensive research I found the Franklin University to be a premier institute offering a world-class educational infrastructure and a practical curriculum.
While working as a Mental Health Clinician with charitable institutions I realized that my interpersonal communication skills improved and I could connect with people easily. This attribute will definitely help me in my selected stream. As a youth counselor and educator, I got the opportunity of interacting with students and got an insight into their multicultural differences. This has enhanced my knowledge base and made me confident as I can easily understand and comprehend various view points.
At Franklin University, the master’s course will help in analyzing various aspects of the nonprofit sector; as I would like to apply my public administration skills in counselling and social service agencies. I would also like to improve my time management skills. Franklin University is known for its proactive facilitators, the expert advisory board and real case studies that assist in making future management decisions. In an international academic atmosphere; I will be competing with the best of students and will definitely learn to manage time and meet deadlines with enthusiasm. I am passionate about meeting people and leading a transformational campaign for social organizations. I believe that this course will make me a better manager and analyst.
My association with law firms has augmented my legal and financial knowledge. These streams are vital for an administrator; I will utilize this experience while pursuing my selected course. All government and non profit organizations need experts who possess the insight and know-how of multiple fields. I am an ardent follower of personalities like Carl Ware and Jennifer Hudson, who have reinvented success strategies by taking risks and enduring tough phases with determination. As a student and professional I have been appreciated by my seniors for my perseverance and passion.
I regularly follow discussions on international issues like effective administration and humanitarian disasters. Somewhere I feel that the exposure and curriculum at Franklin will give me a strong foundation both theoretically and practically. The successful alumni of Franklin prove my point. I strongly feel for my society and its associated problems. The most important concern today is the shortage of trained leaders in public administration; I am determined to pursue the above course to make a difference and serve people.
I regularly practice yoga and meditation to strike a balance between the mind and body. I have seen students enjoy learning while playing; I would love to share my experiences with peers and teachers at Franklin. I am a positive thinker and see opportunities, even in the most stressful situations. I am excited about working on, group projects and have displayed leadership skills at the college level. I see the Public Administration course, making me a zealous leader, organizer, critical thinker and above all a humanitarian.
